More About Coach Dietrich
I have experience coaching youth baseball from tee ball through age 14. For the past three seasons, I’ve coached my son’s travel baseball team, and before that, I coached his All-Star team. My coaching experience has focused on youth players, but I’m open to working with athletes of all ages.
I played for the San Diego Stars, an elite travel baseball team whose players included multiple first-round draft picks and an eventual No. 1 overall pick. I was a three-year starter in high school and earned All-Conference honors before receiving a college baseball scholarship.
At the collegiate level, I started all four years and earned First-Team All-Conference honors in three of those seasons. I also earned All-Star honors in both the New York Collegiate League and the Pacific Coast summer league. I currently hold my college’s career record for doubles and rank second in all-time hits.
Every player is different, so I tailor each 60-minute lesson to the athlete’s skill level, goals, and areas they want to improve. We’ll begin with a brief, focused warm-up appropriate for the session, then spend most of our time on targeted drills and instruction.
Whether we’re working on hitting, fielding, or throwing, I focus on the details of technique, quality repetitions, and clear feedback that players can put into practice right away. As a coach, I planned practices in five-minute increments, and I bring that same preparation and structure to individual lessons while adjusting to the player’s needs.
My goal is to make every minute count and have each athlete leave with a clear understanding of what we worked on and how to keep improving.
