More About Coach David

I have served as a Head Lacrosse Coach at both the middle school and high school levels, building competitive programs rooted in discipline, accountability, and skill development. Throughout my coaching career, I have focused on creating a strong team culture while developing fundamentally sound, high-IQ student-athletes.
At the high school level, I led the program to an MBIL Championship — the first in school history.

I played lacrosse at Beaver Country Day School, where I was a four-year varsity athlete and consistent contributor throughout my high school career. Competing at the varsity level all four years helped me develop a strong lacrosse IQ, competitive edge, and deep understanding of team dynamics.
As a senior, I was honored to serve as team captain — a role that reflected my leadership, work ethic, and commitment to holding both myself and my teammates to a high standard. That same season, I earned EIL All-League honors in the Eastern Independent League and was also recognized as an All-NEPSAC selection, distinguishing me as one of the top players in New England prep school lacrosse.

In a private session with me, athletes can expect personalized, detail-oriented instruction built specifically around their goals, position, and current skill level. Unlike a team practice, this time is fully dedicated to the individual — which allows us to break down mechanics, correct habits, and accelerate development.
Each session begins with a focused dynamic warm-up tailored to the athlete’s needs — whether that’s improving foot speed, agility, balance, or explosiveness. From there, we move into high-repetition stick work, with an emphasis on both-hand development, clean fundamentals, and precision. In private training, I’m able to slow things down when necessary and really fine-tune mechanics — hand placement, shooting form, footwork, body positioning — the small details that make a big difference in games.
For offensive players, we concentrate on dodging mechanics (split, roll, face), change of direction, shooting on the run, finishing from different angles, and reading defenders. For defenders, sessions focus on footwork efficiency, approach angles, leverage, stick checks, and transition play. Midfielders work heavily on conditioning with decision-making under pressure, while goalies receive individualized shot reps, reaction drills, and clearing technique work.
A major focus of private coaching is confidence and lacrosse IQ. We break down situational scenarios, talk through decision-making, and build game awareness.
