More About Coach Dan

Self-coached, I ran a BQ in my first full marathon and then ran a 17-minute PR at Boston in April 2019, running 2:31 (top 1%). I ran XC/track at the D1 level, specializing in XC/5k/10k. As a coach, I want to help you reach your running goals, whether it's your first 5k, first marathon, BQ attempt, or you're just itching to try something new due to quarantine!

Marathon: 2:31:50 (Boston 2019; 127th overall). Half: 1:13:08 (Canyonlands 2019; 2nd overall). 10 mile: 52:59 (Sea Isle 10 Miler, 2009; 6th overall).

NCAA: D1 runner for Loyola University Maryland and University of Maryland, College Park. PRs: 31:00 (10k), 24:46 (8k), 14:42 (5k), 8:35 (3k), 4:00 (1500m). Team captain at Loyola (2009-10). Competed at both the MAAC and ACC conference championships. I also have experience training and racing in swimming, both pool and open water.

My focus is on long-term success, achieved by setting long-term, medium-term, and daily goals. As a working parent, I am mindful of the demands we have outside of running, so my plan will always keep in mind your existing commitments.

Client Reviews

I’ve had the chance to run with Dan during and after college, and he remains my go-to sounding board for thoughts, ideas, and feedback on training and races. Dan truly understands the holistic approach needed to run successfully – building confidence, training smart, doing the small (but needed) activities – Dan’s always been a great resource for me when taking a step back to look at things.
