More About Coach Danielle
HELLO! I have been coaching athletes formally and informally all around the world for the past four years. As a certified running coach through USA Track & Field, my specialty is working with novice to intermediate runners looking to run their first 5k, 10k, half-, or full-marathon! If you dream it, YOU CAN DO IT! I have provided individualized training plans, nutrition advice, strength training plans, support and motivation, plus hosted personal and group runs for runners throughout the world giving them both the confidence and knowledge they need to push themselves and succeed! I have coached in South Africa, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, Russia, and the United States (Utah, Massachusetts, and Washington, DC metro area).
I have been running and competing on track teams since I was eight years old. I ran in two consecutive Junior Olympic meets as a teen, placed in State tournaments, and received awards and accolades. Now, I compete in distance races of all lengths (from 5k to ultra-marathons) as a hobby and sincere passion. I have a Master of Social Work and believe strongly that athletics, running in particular, are the key to unlocking your full potential, and accessing complete and lasting health.
I approach running, and run coaching, holistically. I work with the athlete where they're at, taking in to account all aspects relevant to their health and physical performance. Often times mistaken beliefs or negative inner-monologues bar us from achieving our goals. I encourage my athletes to acknowledge these obstacles and work to overpower them, creating their own truths.
I couple this more realistic and holistic approach to athletics with a series of yoga-inspired stretches and breathing techniques at the beginning of each session. Then, we move to working on problem areas, be it with stride, cadence, rhythm or breathing. Finally, we progress into that day's run distance. The session is completed with a check-in and energizing breathing series.
My clients and I have fun, are real, and work hard. We get results, and maintain a healthy, balanced existence as a result!
