I have had the privilege and opportunity to have known Daniel Giese for the past seven years, two of which I coached him in basketball during his high school years. Following high school graduation and during his college years, Daniel coached in various capacities here at Tri-City Christian School: varsity baseball, JV and freshman basketball, JV and varsity football. Having been a tri-sport athlete himself, he has a vast knowledge of many sports and what it takes to succeed. He has transferred that first-hand knowledge over to coaching, and whichever sport he is coaching, he is always striving to improve his players’ skill and knowledge of the game. He has a good work ethic, is responsible, dependable, patient, and is a good role model. He displays good leadership skills, and leads by example. He is committed to achieving and being a success.

It gives me great pleasure to share my personal reference of a young man I have come to know, love and respect, Daniel Giese. I met Daniel his senior year at Tri-City Christian High School. I became his Head Football Coach over seven years ago. It has been a pleasure watching him as a high school and collegiate athlete and as a fellow football coach. As a senior football player he became our most valuable player and the Pacific League’s Defensive Player of the Year. He set many records both on offense as well as on defense. He was our Captain and really never left the field in any game except on extra points. He did an outstanding job as an athlete, but more importantly he was a true spiritual leader of our team. He has a great desire to be coachable and works extremely well with others. He went on to play three varsity sports and was voted our school’s “Athlete of the Year” his senior year. As a collegiate athlete he started playing college baseball and decided to stop playing and get his degree. He has done that and has now completed masters degree. Daniel is an outstanding student and a highly motivated young man. As a coach I have had the pleasure of working with Daniel for these past four years. He has done an outstanding job working with our running backs, linebackers and punters. He has a great rapport with our players and coaching staff. He is a detail man that has great technological skills that always sharpen me as his Head Coach. I believe Daniel Giese will make a great head football coach when he is given the opportunity. His breaking down of films, experience in the weight room, knowledge of the game and his desire to compete are just some of the many qualities Daniel possesses.

Daniel joined our coaching staff at the beginning of the school year and since then he has shown what an outstanding person he truly is. He exemplifies the “3 C’s” in life, class, character and concern. He is a person that carries himself well due to the value system he holds. He never uses profanity and is quick to praise others when praise is due. He is a person of great character and a coach that you will never worry in regards to embarrassing your institution. Daniel is also a person of concern in that he takes the time to know the students and care about them. These three traits are difficult to find in today’s society and clearly demonstrate why he will be a treasure to whoever hires him. Daniel is capable. He can handle any assignment and follows instructions well. He is a leader and a great role model in that capacity. He is intelligent and has been the type of employee that I can give an assignment to without looking back to see if it will get done. He possesses great diligence and aptitude when afforded a task. Daniel is truly remarkable in his skills in getting the job done.
