More About Coach Craig
Currently, I coach the NCAA Division I Women's Swim Team at Loyola Marymount University. Additionally, I train Iron-man triathletes, masters swimmers, as well as private lessons to all who are interested learning the great sport of swimming. I have the Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
16 time NCAA All-American; 8 time Olympic Trial qualifier; Member of Team South Africa (2011-2014); NCAA champion (individual & team); Student-Athlete at The University of Arizona (Men's Swim Team)
Depending on the swimmers requirements, a typical session will begin with a warmup and drills. Setting the base, aerobically and technically, is incredibly important for an effective and efficient session. The remainder will include but will not limited to the following; drills for all strokes, starts, turns, video analysis, sprint/mid-distance/distance/IM sets. Last, a cool down and a short discussion as to what the swimmer enjoyed/what they did not enjoy.

Great Coach, very thorough and fast! Daughter loves the way he coaches, drills are challenging but the results are fantastic...

Coach Craig is not only very accomplished and knowledgeable swimmer, he has a wonderful teaching program and seemingly unending set of drills to keep lessons interesting. I have seen dramatic progress in a short amount of time. Perhaps most importantly, he has terrific attitude each and every lesson. My only reservation in writing this review is that he will be too busy to continue to work with me!

Coach Craig was great! He made my daughter feel comfortable and confident as he began correcting her strokes! I was specially impressed by his interaction with her! I am looking forward to the next swim class! He is an amazing swimming instructor!

I have been looking for a swim coach for my 14 year old daughter for a while now. She had been training with a club but something just didn't feel right. Her strokes, turns and overall technique was way off.
Between her deficiencies in technique and her body changing the way most girls her age do, she wasn't dropping time in her events and getting frustrated with the sport.
I feel blessed we found Craig. Nicole and Craig connected right away, he has a nice/caring/very patient way of explaining the sport and was able to change Nicole's perspective of "it's all about dropping time" and taught her another side of the sport: "it's more about working on the details".
Craig is very knowledgeable, smart, experienced, very VERY detailed and able to identify and help Nicole understand what she needs to do to become a more effective swimmer.
I have never seen Nicole enjoy her lessons this much. Craig is worth every penny, coaches like him are hard to find

Great teacher. Quickly honed in on ways to improve technique. Motivational and instructive. Highly recommend for any other adults looking to improve technique.

Unfortunately, I only had the opportunity to work with Craig for a year. I chose to say “work with” rather than “be coached by” because Craig always ensured I was able to communicate my wants and needs to him as my coach. He always took my individual needs and created a tailored workout that challenged me to do my best while also making workouts engaging. He utilized every tool available on and off the pool deck, which is a testament to his creativity and true passion for the sport. He not only challenged his swimmers, but also challenged himself daily to be a better coach. He inspired me to want to reach goals I never thought possible for myself, and through his help, I was able to achieve those goals. Without his guidance and support, I would surely not have been as successful as I was. It takes an exceptional coach to inspire their athlete to strive for greatness, and Craig did just that. His impact on my swimming career and life will forever be meaningful for me. The values I learned with him will stay with me well beyond my swimming career.

The Best Coach Around - The addition of Craig Jordens to LMU’s coaching staff was incredibly impactful, and I know that we all gained so much from both his presence on the pool deck and his knowledge of the sport. He was always more than willing to help us breakdown our technique to become faster and more efficient swimmers, and he was always willing to put in the hard work with us in the weight room to become stronger athletes. He created sets that encouraged us to step out of our comfort zone, and we could see how our hard work could be directly translated into a race. Craig was able to give each swimmer the attention she needed to improve in the sport, and was always the first coach to give us the encouraging words we needed to keep our chins up throughthe highs and lows of a college swim season. Craig’s passion for the sport lit a fire within each of us that brought our team to a new level, and his coaching abilities are by far the best I have ever encountered in my 16-year career as a competitive swimmer
