More About Coach Collin

The past two summers, I have coached kids ranging from ages 6-15. I was a coach for my old travel team, as well as helping run a day camp for beginner baseball players.

Right now, I am a switch-hitting catcher, playing baseball at Rhodes College, which is a DIII school. We just won our conference championship and went to the NCAA Regional Tournament. In high school, I went to Cardinal Gibbons, and my senior year was ranked 20th in the country for caught stealing percentage.

A client can expect a session with me to be either 1 or more hours of hitting or split up the session into half of the time being a hitting lesson and the other half being a catching lesson. In a typical session, I focus on building solid fundamentals while tailoring the workout to each athlete’s goals and skill level. We’ll usually start with a dynamic warm-up and light throwing to get loose and check in on mechanics. From there, we’ll dive into position-specific drills—whether that’s blocking, receiving, and footwork for catchers, or swing path, timing, and balance for hitters.

As a switch-hitter, I can help you develop from both sides or just one side of the plate, using tee work, front toss, and live reps to build rhythm and consistency. For catchers, I emphasize game-like reps and movement patterns that translate directly to performance behind the plate. Every session is about improving technique, building confidence, and making small adjustments that lead to big results over time. You’ll leave each session with focused feedback and a plan for what to work on next.
