More About Coach Collette
Track & Field has always been dear to my heart. I grew up as a sprinter and jumper and trained with some of the top coaches in the world including Charlie Francis and Lawrence Athill. My expertise is and was the sprints and jumps. I shattered county and conference records, and won the New Jersey state championship three times. I was an All-American long jumper and triple jumper. I then went on to compete at the Division 1 level in college at The University of Pennsylvania.
I have coached high school athletes to improve their sprinting and jumping technique. I was a crafted technician from the start. I believe in focusing on quality and not quantity. My goals for my athletes are for them to learn the correct technique in their respective event, which will allow for them to jump farther, run faster, and stay injury free. If you are a high jumper, you're not going to be doing the same workouts as my 400m runners. This is sports specific and event specific training.
I help athletes work on their starts (in and out of blocks), acceleration speed, top-end sprint speed, plyometrics, high jump technique, long jump technique, and triple jump technique. We slow down the process to find out what type of training your body can handle based on your experience and external factors.
I also qualified for the Olympic Trials in Olympic Weightlifting and I have extensive knowledge in that field.

I first like to get a feel for the athletes background, strengths, weaknesses, and injuries. Then, I'll take them through a warm-up with track drills and dynamic stretching. After that, we will work on speed drills, acceleration drills, and technique. As a technician, I stress quality over quantity. If the athlete is a specialty athlete (hurdles, jumps, etc.), then we will focus on their specific track event. I always want the athlete to leave feeling refreshed and wanting more.
