More About Coach Colin

High School, College, Adult athletes. USATF Level I, USTFCCCA Coaching Certification, RRCA Level 1 Coaching Certification, first year graduate student in Applied Sport Psychology (MA), CPR, First Aid/AED. Predominantly coached high school athletes and independently coached adult athletes.

I competed in high school where I achieved All-State in several distances over several years. I ran collegiately for four years and post-collegiately for several years. In college I received multiple All-Conference awards and qualified for numerous post-season championship races. I have continued to run and, after a brief break, am entering the competitive running scene once again.

A session plan outline will depend on several criteria: the training experience of the athlete, injury history of the athlete, the goals of the athlete, the distances they are training for, where the athlete is within the training cycle, and the goal of the specific workout. Every session will begin with a warm-up that consists of muli-joint movements, dynamic drills and light jogging to prepare the athlete for the session. The athlete will then perform the major components of the workout, again this will vary depending on several factors. Athletes will then go through "post-run maintenance" which consists of strength, power, flexibility and other exercises that are unique for the individual athletes needs. This post-run maintenance is designed to keep the athlete healthy and prepare them for upcoming sessions or competitions. My training is very holistic and will be customized for each athlete depending on the strengths and weaknesses, and desired intensity level of each athlete.

Client Reviews

Coach Lyons helped me go from a 1:45 half marathon to a 1:33! His training was diverse and kept me from getting board. I especially liked the strength exercises he had me do, they helped when I was feeling really tired at the end of my race. Thanks Coach Lyons!
