Football Coaching Experience: I have 5 years of experience as the varsity head coach for Ridgefield Park High School in New Jersey (2020-2024). In this position, I was a member of a fraternity of coaches who coach in the nationally recognized Super Football Conference (NJ). I won Super Football Conference Coach of the Year in 2021 (American Red Division). Previous to becoming the head coach, I was a varsity assistant coach while coaching the positions of offensive line, tight ends, wide receivers, running backs, defensive line, linebackers, and defensive backs. I also have 4 years experience as a varsity defensive coordinator, 6 years experience as a special teams coordinator, and 2 years experience as co-offensive coordinator. This past fall season after the birth of my second son I stepped away from being the head coach to a varsity assistant coach for Yonkers Brave HS, where I coached linebackers and offensive line. I also was the Special Teams Coordinator.
Strength and Conditioning Experience: Alongside all those years of football coaching experience, I was the strength and conditioning coach at Ridgefield Park High School from 2016-2024. I developed workout plans for athletes that competed in football, baseball, basketball, wrestling, track and field, softball, volleyball. I've attended clinics yearly to improve my knowledge and stay up to date with the cutting edge strength and conditioning philosophies. I stay in shape by actually doing the workouts I prescribe, so I can model the correct technique. I may even jump in to work out with my athletes. I love to physically challenge and compete with my athletes to make it more engaging and fun. Developing explosive athletes with plyometrics, agility, speed, and strength training is my passion.
Age Range: I've organized and directed multiple youth football camps for kids ranging in age from 6-14 years old. Most of my experience is with kids ranging from 12-18 years old. However, I have trained my athletes while they were in college also.
Industry Certificates: I have my Masters Degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University of Irvine. This degree supplied me with world class coaching knowledge on topics such as Strength and Conditioning, Sports Psychology, Ethics, Football, and Leadership Development. I've been a certified coach in New Jersey and New York over 10 years and I am CPR certified.
I'm an elementary school teacher, having taught grades 4th, 5th and 6th grades since 2018 in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey.
I earned First Team All-League Tight End and was selected to play in the Bergen County All Star Game in New Jersey. I excelled in football and baseball, while also playing at the varsity level in basketball and track and field. I earned a scholarship to play Division 1 football at Sacred Heart University.
At Sacred Heart University, I earned the opportunity to be the starting Tight End halfway through my freshman season and I also was on the punt team and kickoff return team as a freshman. I started 38 consecutive games at the tight end position (every game since my freshman year) and played special teams in all those games also.
Based on the client's goals, I will assess their athletic ability by putting them through drills to pinpoint weaknesses. I will use calisthenics, resistance bands, medicine balls, and weight training to address those weaknesses. The exercises and volume can vary from session to session depending if we are working to increase endurance, strength, or explosion.
Typical layout of a session:
Functional Flexibility with a Dynamic Warm Up - Get the blood flowing to our muscles, loosen up our joints, and raise our heart rate.
Core work - Strengthening an athletes core is the most important muscle group for any position or sport. The athlete will not be able to do anything their coach needs them to do without a strong core.
Position specific skills- The technique of their position will be drilled. Attention to detail and discipline will be stressed. Posture and body language will be a point of emphasis. The development of relentless effort and persistent/determined attitude will happen in our position specific drills.
Strength work will be incorporated throughout a session.
My enthusiasm and intensity is what makes the sessions fun and keeps my athletes wanting to keep coming back to work hard. This is what I love to do.
