More About Coach Charlie

I've been training for more than 6 years. I've been a group Fitness Instructor for about 8 years. I am Les Mills certified in Bodyattack, Bodystep and Bodypump. I "grew up" in the gym. My ex was a National Competitive Bodybuilder. He taught and showed me a lot of things over the last 20 some odd years. The physical fitness dynamic has also changed through the years. Today's Athlete is more slimmer, leaner and flexible type of individual.

I have lost 80 pounds and have kept it off for over 20 years. I work at Brick bodies in Baltimore county. I love to teach Boxing boot camps and any general style of training camp. I have and will teach anyone over the age of 18. I have been a group instructor for 15 years in many different settings. I love to do bodyweight exercises. I'd love to show someone how to learn to do pull-ups and pushups and to feel wonderful in their own skin.

I can get beginner level athletes up to higher levels of fitness and I can also super charge fit athletes to their next level, safely and with fun and enthusiasm.

My knowledge of muscle building is vast. If building solid muscle and leaning out is what the client wants, I could provide it.

Fitness is my life. I changed careers 8 years ago and went from being a General contractor for my own business to be able to interact with people to help them to feel better and live a better quality of life.

I played sports most of my life. I grew up playing soccer, softball and basketball year round for my school leagues. I also played in high school as well. I coached a youth girls basketball team and this is my favorite sport!

Teaching group fitness at our gym is huge and it is an honor and a privilege to do it. I work at the most reputable gyms in Maryland that offers the group ex program and I teach at the most prime time spot, on Saturday mornings at !0am. It is the main event.

Sessions begin with a warm up. A quarter mile jog or some whole body exercise like a 2 minute jumprope would be 2 examples depending on ability. For people just betinning, it would be a simpler, whole body warm up like some knee lifts or squat and taps.

I would do a few minutes of stretching after a warmup, then proceed to the workout. We would do some simply strength work.the body moves in 5 different directions. Push, Pull, Squat, Lunge and Rotate. I'd design something around those movements depending on what their training schedule is. I would end with a finisher. A finisher is a some short interval form of metabolic training. This would last anywhere from 4-12 minutes. We would do some core work and then I would stretch the client.
