More About Coach Chaz

I have been coaching for 25 years. I have run camps and clinics, as well as individual instruction. I have head coaching experience on the high school and semi-pro levels. I am currently the Southeastern VA Area Director for a company called 1 on 1 Basketball for which I set up training such as camps, leagues and individual instruction. I am adept with working with all levels. Fundamentals typically don't change.

I played winning basketball throughout my career. 19-4 in high school in Greenburgh, NY. 36-2 in juco at Westchester C.C.. I was a part of the best team in school history. We made it to the final 4 and wound up 3rd in the nation. For this our team was inducted into our school's Hall of Fame. I then played tour team basketball which included an undefeated season against Division 1 competition. Throughout my semi-pro career I wound up playing every position (1-5) on the court. This truly built my understanding of the game.

When I train an athlete I demand mental focus combined with game like intensity. My intentions are to make the fundamentals a habit. In other words it's not enough to simply know what to do. We want to trigger automatic responses. When a shot goes up, we box out without even thinking about it. Typically I will have my athletes run through drills to reinforce particular skills and then continue to coach them in live situations further helping to convert knowledge to habit.

Coach is a great teacher but an even better person. You can tell he knows the game and makes on the spot corrections. He works with my 15 yo son and he is doing drills he's never done.

Coach Chaz is a great coach. The first session was great. My daughter and I had hiccups with getting her to play basketball which included very limited teams in this area and pandemic issues that caused us to put her dream in the closet. My daughter is now in 11th grade. She expressed with passion to me of wanting to pursue her dream.
