More About Coach Charles

Coach Charles Frazier, former Hubbard High School star running back went home to Hubbard during the 2013-2014 season, as the Defensive Coordinator. For the 2014-2015 season he has accepted the position of Offensive Coordinator. Coach Frazier stresses the fundamentals of football, followed by game-breaker skills that make a difference for every athlete and team.

Prior to returning to Hubbard, Coach Frazier spent five years as Head Football Coach at Lindbloom High School in Chicago. Coach Frazier is very proud that a number of his Lindbloom players are now attending and playing for Division I schools, while several others are playing for Division II and III schools.

Coach Frazier, whose Greyhound number 2 jersey is retired at Hubbard High School played four years for Hubbard. Widely considered the best player in the Public League, this senior game-breaker rushed for 2,119 yards and 31 touchdowns in leading the Greyhounds in the1998 Prep Bowl showdown against Joliet Catholic. In that game he ran for 330 yards in 5A playoff victory over Antioch. The Greyhounds appeared in the Prep Bow in 1997, when Frazier was a junior as well.

Coach Frazier attended and played for Hampton University and Joliet Junior College. He also played semi-professional ball for one season.

More recently Coach Frazier became co-founder of Inner City Youth Athletics. ICYA provides coaching as well as mentorship to youth athletes in the Chicagoland area.

Coach Frazier's approach is built on fundamentals of skill positions, tailoring his workout to the individual needs of the athlete. He prides himself of providing "the little things" that he calls game breakers that allow each athlete to build agility, speed and explosiveness.

Cameron Fenton, Former Player for Lindbloom Math and Science Academy Football Team I attended Lindblom Math and Science Academy located in West Englewood for high school. I played basketball and football during my time there, but football became my focus starting my junior year when Coach Frazier took over as head coach. Before him, we would go through coaches like pencils. It was a struggling program, but Coach Frazier came in with a vision and he wanted to take the football program to the next level, and that he did. I stuck around for the ride and it was the best decision I have ever made. I was molded into one of the top kick returners in the state and an ultimate leader of the team. I saw what I was doing on the field as more than just football. It was practice for life. You have to be disciplined, hardworking, and strategic to get ahead of the next man. My dream has been to become an orthopedic surgeon and repair athlete’s injuries. Coach Frazier asked me, “Why do you work so hard on that field if you don’t plan on playing in college?” I said I do it for my bros Cody and Davontay (fellow co-captains) so that they can get their chance to get looked at by college coaches. Now all three of us are students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and we still stick together as a family. Davontay is now on the football team and Cody is focusing on engineering for the time being. Life would be so much different if Coach Frazier was never our coach. He can do the same thing for you.
