More About Coach Chancelor
For the last 10 years I've coached Division 1 Women's Basketball at both UCLA and SMU (Dallas, TX), where I had the opportunity to coach in Elite 8 games. Those opportunities have positioned me to create and lead various Skill Development programs for athletes ranging from Elementary to Professional levels, while also Directing several Basketball Camps, including the UCLA Women's Basketball camps. I look forward to working with all positions and skill levels!
I played for the most prominent high school program in the state of Michigan and one of the top Club organizations. Unfortunately, I had several knee surgeries in high school that didn't allow me to continue but allowed me to pursue coaching and mastering my ability to communicate universally. I went to University and started running basketball camps and doing skill development before transitioning into full-time Division 1 coaching.
Each session will be different, depending on both skill level and goals of the training discussed with the client or his/her guardian. A traditional session will begin with a brief warm up before going straight into a series of prepared drills focusing on ball handling (dribble, pass and catch), finishing, shooting and other skillsets discussed with the client. I love breaking down fundamentals, building a base and helping make the right improvements to improve efficiency and effectiveness. I like to be very conversational and encouraging with my athletes, which helps sessions flow and create an open dialogue to make sure you improve in the areas you want to improve in.
