More About Coach Chad

Nearly a decade of experience coaching (and training with) athletes at every level - youth to professional. I have worked as a Sports Performance Specialist at multiple high schools and Universities, including: Southern University and Southeastern Louisiana University. Now, I typically work with the youth population - seeing young athletes blossom and begin to do things they didn't think were possible, brings me the most joy! I have several certifications, including: Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (Human Performance), minor in Psychology, Certified Speed Specialist (NASE), Sports Performance Specialist (USAW), and Youth Fitness Specialist (IYCA) - expected Fall 2016. Experienced implementing Gray Cooks 5 point Functional Movement Screen, which allows me to diagnose areas of tightness and/or lack of mobility. I also have a firm understanding of bio-mechanics, and research/study extensively to educate myself on sport-specific skills, including: throwing-pitching mechanics, position specific footwork/agility, tackling-Defensive Back specific techniques, baseball swing mechanics, linear sprinting mechanics, route running-Wide Receiver/Running Back specific techniques. Seven years of experience coaching football at the youth level along with two years at the high school level. I have been playing sports since the age of ten. Whatever the season, I played it! High school highlights include All-District and All-Metro Honorable Mention in multiple sports. I never played ball at the college level due to the fact that I lacked guidance, structure, and self-discipline as a high school student-athlete. Therefore, I never understood what it truly took to play at the next level and be successful. As a college student, I began to learn the science and applied my knowledge to my training. As a result, I started to see drastic changes in my abilities and began to do things I could never do before. So, from there - I began to play football and baseball competitively. At an open arena league tryout, I was offered an Arena 2 contract with Corpus Christi. Before I ever had the opportunity to enter camp, the league went bankrupt. From that point forward, I realized I had to focus on earning my degree and providing for my family, which leads me to where I am today!

Chad worked with our entire Football Program this past offseason. 50+ kids from 5th through 8th grade ranging from never played before to seasoned athlete and the results were off the chart. Our athletes improved greatly in speed, conditioning, agility, coordination, core strength and overall athleticism. He was extremely well prepared for each session, and commanded the entire group with great technical instruction, dynamic drills, and motivational wisdom. As the summer went on, I could see the kids becoming better athletes as Chad increased their workload. Our Student-athletes are better football players, better athletes, and better individuals.
