More About Coach Cassidy
I have experience coaching youth lacrosse teams and providing private goalie training for athletes ranging from elementary to high school. I focus on building fundamentals, confidence, and game IQ, tailoring each session to the player’s age and skill level. I’ve worked with beginners all the way up to college prospects, helping goalies elevate their game through structured, position-specific training. Currently expanding my experience while pursuing certifications to deepen my coaching impact.
Colorado College | NCAA Division III | #25 | Class of 2026
Starting goalie entering senior year at Colorado College, competing at the NCAA Division III level.
Led the conference in goals against average (GAA) during junior season with an outstanding 6.45 GAA and a .541 save percentage.
Named Conference Defensive Player of the Year (2025) for exceptional performance in net and leadership on the field.
Finished junior year with 175 saves, .526 save percentage, and a 7.21 GAA, anchoring one of the top defenses in the league.
Known for quick reflexes, high lacrosse IQ, and consistency under pressure in high-stakes matchups.
Three-year starter with significant contributions to postseason and regular season success.
1. Dynamic Warm-Up (10–15 mins)
We start every session with a lacrosse-specific warm-up focusing on footwork, reaction time, and core activation. Think ladder drills, quick hops, and hand-eye coordination work with tennis balls to get the body and mind ready to go.
2. Technical Foundation (15–20 mins)
Here, we fine-tune key fundamentals:
Stance and arc positioning
Hand placement and stick control
Explosive step to the ball
Resetting after saves
I emphasize repetition and perfect form to build muscle memory and consistency.
3. Live Shot Reps (20–30 mins)
This is where intensity rises. I give goalies a variety of shots from different angles and distances:
Time-and-room shots
On-the-run shots
Inside finishes
Bounce and high-to-low shots
We simulate game scenarios and adjust shot speed and placement based on skill level. This is where goalies develop tracking, timing, and confidence.
4. Situational Drills & Decision-Making (10–15 mins)
I incorporate communication, clears, and in-the-moment reactions:
Fast breaks
Screened shots
Rebounds
1v1s
This helps goalies improve their lacrosse IQ and decision-making under pressure.
5. Cool Down & Feedback (5–10 mins)
