More About Coach Cassidy

I’ve coached and trained athletes across multiple levels, including youth, high school, and college. I currently serve as the JV and Assistant Varsity Coach for Bethlehem Catholic Girls Basketball, and I coach the 14U boys teams for Gerner Basketball Academy Elite AAU in Philadelphia. I also run my own training business, Two4Hoops Skills Training, where I design individualized player development programs. I typically train athletes in grades 8 through 12, but I’ve also worked with a handful of collegiate players looking to sharpen their skills.

In addition to these roles, I’ve coached at numerous basketball camps throughout the Lehigh Valley and New Jersey. I have also spent the last two summers at Pocono Invitational Basketball Camp. These opportunities have allowed me to work with athletes of all ages and skill levels. While I don’t currently hold formal coaching certifications, my experience as a collegiate athlete and founder of a training business has equipped me with experience, basketball IQ, and mentorship.

I competed at both the Division I and Division II collegiate levels, beginning my career on a full athletic scholarship at Wagner College before transferring to East Stroudsburg University. Throughout my college experience, I developed a strong foundation in leadership, discipline, and high-level team competition. In 2024, I was recognized as a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team member and earned PSAC Scholar-Athlete honors.

In high school, I was a First Team All-League selection in the EPC and ranked as the #3 recruit in Pennsylvania by PA Girls Hoops Report. I also earned Second Team honors in the Rose Classic Fall League, competing against top regional talent.

These experiences have shaped my perspective as a player—giving me insight, confidence, and a competitive edge that now help me guide and develop the next generation of athletes as a trainer/coach.

A typical session with me is structured, intense, and built around attention to detail. We start with a dynamic warm-up, whether it’s through ball handling, plyos/footwork, or sport-specific strength. From there, we get into tailored drills — shooting, finishing, creating space, decision-making — depending on the athlete’s goals and needs.

The biggest difference in my training is the focus on small details. Once players reach a certain level of competition everyone is good. It’s the small details that will separate good from great. It’s the angle of a foot on a crossover, the timing of a hesitation move, the ability to stay low through a drive — details most players overlook, but the best ones obsess over. I make sure every rep is purposeful.

I usually end sessions with a challenge that tests mental fortitude — whether it’s pushing through fatigue, handling pressure, or responding to adversity in a drill. My goal is for every player to leave not just physically sharper, but mentally stronger. I want them to understand the game on a deeper level and recognize that the small details, done with consistency and focus, are what lead to big results.
