More About Coach Cassandra

I began coaching lacrosse in high school where is was a coach for my town's first youth lacrosse league during my junior and senior year of high school. After graduating from high school I attended the University at Albany where I played lacrosse for three years. After graduating from college in 2015 I moved to Myrtle Beach South Carolina where I began coaching JV and Varsity athletes at Carolina Forest High School. I was the head JV coach for the 2016 season. I also coached a youth summer league called Swamp Fox lacrosse league for ages 7-12 during the summer of 2016. While working in Myrtle Beach South Carolina, I planned and organized a youth lacrosse clinic in conjunction with Coastal Carolina University's Fall Ball Play Day in October of 2016. I was also involved in the clinic's recruitment of volunteer college athlete coaches. This clinic was for the local youth and high schools programs and its mission was to encourage the growth of lacrosse in the Myrtle Beach area. The clinic was a huge success and the City plans on making it an annual event.

I have now been coaching on CoachUp for three years.

I began playing lacrosse in the ninth grade. I played JV during my ninth grade year and moved up to varsity my tenth grade year. I was recruited by Division I University at Albany where I played on the team for three years. While playing we won one conference championship. I was on the all academic team during high school and college. I am familiar with numerous training techniques for lacrosse as well as strength and conditioning at the collegiate level. I continue to play lacrosse in an adult lacrosse league.

I would assess the players skill level and talk to the athlete about their perceived strengths and weaknesses. This is not only about lacrosse technique but also about strength, stamina, and agility. All of this plays a factor on the field. Once I have an idea of the athletes skills, I would created a schedule based on the needs of the athlete and what needs to be worked on. I have a lot of stick skill exercises as well as shooting, defensive positioning, keys to midfield transition, etc. Since agility and speed are key to success, I would also incorporate those drills into sessions.

Client Reviews

Coach Cassandra was great. She worked on shooting, passing with non-donon-dominant She was really good at teaching my daughter step by step. We saw improvements after first lesson. We highly recommend her!

Cassandra was fantastic! My daughter wanted to work on specific skills. Cassandra listened, assessed her skills, and tailored specific drills and exercises that focused on the whole player. They used every minute of every hour building muscle memory and endurance. I'm amazed what she can do in a hour with a lacrosse student. Coach Cassandra prepared my daughter for her high school tryouts and she was one of two freshman to make the varsity team. We will go back to Cassandra during the spring season to work on specific skills and fine tune her abilities. I can't recommend Coach Casandra enough. Oh, and she's a lot of fun too.

Great first session! Really helped my daughter improve for upcoming tryouts.

Great first lesson! Cassandra listened to what we needed and was able to change my daughter’s shot around the net in one session. Thank you!
