More About Coach Cameron
Since 2020, I have been dedicated to coaching youth and high school athletes, focusing on developing fundamental skills and enhancing game intelligence across a wide range of age groups—from 4th grade to collegiate freshmen. My experience includes roles with Advanced Lacrosse in Nutley, NJ, and The Reign Lacrosse Club in New Windsor, NY, where I worked with both large groups and small teams. While I currently coach small groups, I’ve found that one-on-one training is the most effective approach for providing detailed, personalized feedback that fosters comprehensive skill improvement. As a USA Lacrosse-certified coach and referee, I bring a thorough understanding of the game’s nuances and a commitment to helping players achieve their highest potential—striving to cultivate athletes who surpass even my level of expertise.
I was a starting offensive midfielder for the Florida Institute of Technology, competing at the NCAA Division II level. Although I received several Division I offers in high school, I chose Florida Tech for its balance of academic and athletic opportunities, which aligned best with my goals. Throughout my time there, I consistently earned a place on the SSC Honor Roll each semester and came close to achieving SSC All-American recognition. Known for my agility and field vision, I played a key role as a playmaker, excelling in dodging and setting up scoring opportunities for my teammates.
In my training sessions, I place a strong emphasis on shooting form and footwork, as these fundamental elements are crucial to every player’s overall performance. I typically start by warming up with close-range shooting from 5-10 yards to establish control and precision. From there, we progress to shooting on the run, focusing closely on footwork, hand placement, body positioning, and advanced passing techniques. This structured approach ensures that players build solid technical skills while developing the agility and accuracy needed for high-level play. My sessions vary on age and skill level, so each player can developed to their catered needs.
