More About Coach Brian
Former varsity coach at Norfolk Collegiate School (VA) + current staff at Dexter Southfield School (MA) -- work with all age groups elementary through high school ages. Mainly focused on pitching instruction and execution.
Former DIII pitcher for Christopher Newport University (VA), led the Captains bullpen leading the nation in appearances (2018) and K/9 innings. Led the Captains to 2 NCAA tournaments and named to NCAA All-Region team, as well as Virginia SID all-state team. CNU leader all time in appearances in a season, and top 10 in K/9 innings as well as batting average against. Completed in the summer(s) for the Charlottesville Tom Sox out of the valley league in Virginia. Former standout at Mathews High School (VA), all state performer 2x.
Each pitching session is structured to develop consistency, command, and confidence on the mound. We’ll start with a dynamic warm-up and light catch to activate proper mechanics and arm path, followed by structured bullpen work tailored to the athlete’s needs—whether that’s refining their fastball command, developing off-speed pitches, or improving tempo and balance.
I focus heavily on repeatable mechanics, efficient lower-half use, and mental routines that build mound presence. We’ll break down delivery in phases, use targeted drills to clean up movement patterns, and simulate game situations to improve pitch execution under pressure. My goal is to help young pitchers not only throw strikes but compete with intent and pitch with a plan.
