More About Coach Brian
Head Varsity Basketball Coach | Oakland Christian School
I help athletes develop the skills, confidence, discipline, and leadership necessary to succeed on and off the court. With over a decade of coaching experience spanning youth basketball, middle school, AAU, player development, and high school programs, I have worked with athletes ranging from beginners to varsity-level players pursuing collegiate opportunities.
My coaching philosophy centers around player development, accountability, competitive excellence, and character growth. Every session is designed to challenge athletes, build confidence, and help them become the best version of themselves both as players and young men.
Basketball has shaped my life for more than 20 years.
I played at Lansing Eastern High School before continuing my career at the collegiate level at Emporia State University. Those experiences taught me the importance of preparation, leadership, teamwork, and daily improvement.
Today, I combine my playing experience with years of coaching and player development to help athletes improve their basketball IQ, skill set, confidence, and overall approach to the game.
Each training session is built around three priorities:
🏀 Skill Development
🏀 Basketball IQ
🏀 Competitive Application
Athletes will work on shooting, ball handling, finishing, footwork, defensive movement, and game decision-making through game-speed drills and competitive situations.
Training focuses on helping players transfer skills directly into live-game performance while also developing leadership, discipline, accountability, and confidence.
My mission is simple: Develop better players, build stronger leaders, and help athletes reach their full potential on and off the court.
