More About Coach Braxton
I have limited coaching and training as I am still a current professional baseball player. I am a coaches kid so all my life I have been working baseball camps and doing occasional lessons. I have a great understanding of pitching, hitting, and fielding but I am primarily a pitching guy as this is what I still currently do. I don't have any certifications. I am looking for some lessons on the side as I know I can help the youth in their journey to become better baseball players.
I played Division I baseball at both The University of Nebraska and Dallas Baptist University. I was awarded an all conference award at DBU before I was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles. I played in two regionals in my four years in school. My senior year at DBU I got the win in an elimination game. Currently still playing professional baseball for the Baltimore Orioles. Was in Double A last season before I got injured.
I don't have a specific gameplan for each session as things changed based on each player. I do however plan prior to the lesson after I get a baseline understanding of what the player needs and or is looking for. I have the ability to develop a throwing and workout program or any other guidance the player may be needing. I know countless drills and techniques that I will implement depending on the needs of the player. First sessions would more than likely be an understanding of how the player moves and operates, then after that would be more work as I would understand their skillsets and things they need to work on. If I have a prior understanding of what the client is looking for in a lesson I can gameplan accordingly and dismiss the introductions. Rather get to work as soon as possible on what the client is seeking knowledge on.
