I have coached and trained baseball players for 14+ years. I have coached at baseball camps (Magdaleno School of Baseball), baseball clinics (Hit 4 Power), and have also done one-on-one lessons. The age groups that I have worked with in the past have been from ages 6-17. I am a current Personal Trainer (Phase 1 & Phase 2)

Selwyn Brandon Fate Young a native of Los Angeles CA, had an excellent college baseball career. He played shortstop for his dad at L.A. City College and was named All Conference and made the California Community College All Star Game after hitting .315. He transferred to Benedict, again playing for his dad, and ended his college career with a .345 batting average, stealing 45 out of 54 bases and having 82 RBIs and finishing his Benedict career in the All Time Benedict top ten, with 115 hits. Young was named Benedict's Defensive Player of the Year for 2010 and 2011. He was also named First Team Pre-Season All NCAA South Region, Palmetto All State Team and First Team ALL SIAC. In addition, Young was named SIAC East Player of the week, February 22, 2011.batted .345 with two HR and 40 RBI in 52 games as a junior. The 5-11 second baseman/shortstop batted .349 with 41 RBI in 43 games, earning All-SIAC first team honors. He was a part of a Benedict College program that led all NCAA baseball in stolen bases as a team over the last three seasons. Young had 45 stolen bases in 54 attempts over the last two seasons. Former Benedict College player Selwyn Brandon Fate Young signed his first of five professional baseball contracts with the Newark Bears of the CanAm League in 2011 for his first experience in professional baseball shortly after graduating from college. He played for former MLB Star Tim Raines on the Newark Bears in the Can Am Professional Baseball League. He then signed in 2012 with the Yuma Scorpions in the Northwest Professional Baseball league, playing for MLB Star Gary Templeton. In 2012, Young spent a brief stint with the Hawaii Stars also with the Northwest Pro League. Young joined the USA Military All Stars on the red white and blue tour June 2013 after spending two weeks playing for his dad on the Conway Cadets in the Beach Collegiate Baseball League. The Former Benedict College baseball standout Brandon Young then signed his fourth contract to play with the Trinidad Triggers an independent team in the Pecos League.
"He is a multi-dimensional player, with great hands, excellent speed, and a terrific bat," Triggers Manager, JD Droddy, said, referring to Young. "We are expecting him to make a great contribution to the 2014 Triggers." In 2015 Young signed with the water town bucks of the empire pro league where he led his team in batting average hitting 364 in 136 at bats only struck out 4 times landing him the second spot on the league leader board for average, He was also chosen to be the short stop of the Allstar team. Brandon's father Selwyn is now the winningest coach in Benedict college history going into his sixth season leading the Tigers. Selwyn Young a former shortstop himself, is a member of Pepperdine University's prestigious Hall of Fame, having played in the 1979 College World Series. Selwyn spent 10 years as a professional baseball player with the A's, Orioles and Mariners and also spent 10 years as a professional baseball scout for the Red's and Mariners. His Benedict College Tigers have led all three NCAA divisions in stolen bases for 5 consecutive years. Collegiate Baseball nicknamed Benedict, "The Amazing Base Stealing Machine." The Tigers have stolen 1434 bases in five seasons, and have stolen over 300 bases in a season twice in the last four years. The Tigers own all of NCAA Division II's stolen base records. The 2011 Tigers won Black College Baseball's National Championship, along with the SIAC East Division Championship. Brandon Young is part of professional baseball's Young family, which has made an impact at the amateur and professional level for many years. The Young family and baseball go well beyond Brandon and his father. Brandon's grandfather, Fate Young, spent 35 years as a professional baseball scout in the inner city of Los Angeles, California. His uncle, Delwyn Young, Sr., spent 13 years as a professional baseball player. His cousin, Delwyn Young, Jr., has spent 14 seasons in professional baseball having played in the Major Leagues with the Dodgers and Pirates. Delwyn Jr then singed to play for the Camden River Sharks in the Atlantic Professional Baseball League. He was then traded to the suggarland skeeters where he took home the Skeeters MVP honor in 2014, hit .289 setting single season franchise records with 88 RBI and 246 total bases. Additionally, Young ranked fourth in the Atlantic League with 20 home runs and seventh with 153 hits. He will continue his career starting the 2015 in the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol playing for the Tigres de Quintana Roo Baseball Team.

Coach Brandon is coaching up our 7 year old son. Our boy really enjoys his sessions and is already getting excited for the spring season. He’s getting all of the fundamentals down and enjoying it! My 15 year old grandson had his first coaching session with Coach Brandon after not playing baseball for approximately 8 years. After completing his session I asked him what he thought about his training. He informed me that he was honored to have him as his coach. He is so talented and gifted with his training techniques and skills that he left feeling so positive and confident about himself.. I was also at the training and observed how Coach Brandon interacted with my grandson. I was extremely impressed with his performance. My son had nothing but positive feedback from his session with Brandon. He immediately saw how to fix his swing, and we saw the results in a game he played the very next day.

I did extent research of finding the right trainer for our son.
Our son is 7 years old and something traumatic had happened to him during a baseball tournament last October. It was to a point where our son didn’t want to play baseball anymore, but knew the passion for the sport is still there.
I reached out to Coach B and I sent him videos of our son’s incident that included him pitching. He watched the video and he was able to tell us right away what our son was doing wrong.
Our first meet with Coach B he automatically noticed our son’s form with batting, pitching, etc.
Every session he has had with Coach B our son has been improving a lot! After His first 2 sessions with Coach B our son was pitching again without feeling forced!
We have had 3 sessions with Coach B and will continue getting more training from him throughout the year!
I can say our son has corrected his form and has gotten rid of the bad habits and working on continuing with the good habits, he has built strength, confidence & he enjoys getting trained by Coach B!
If you are looking for someone who is very patient and can point out right away what your child is doing wrong with their forms, hit, bat, catch, etc. he is the man to go to!

Brandon is an incredible coach. He's patient, friendly, technical and provides a fun experience. My son was all smiles during the session. He is 10 in a 10-12 league. He had trouble adjusting the speed of the pitching and was batting .000 in his first game. After 2 sessions with Brandon my son saw improvement. In the last 2 games he went 3 of 4 with two walks. 5 RBI's a single, double and a triple.

I highly recommend working with him. His adjustments Tommy sons swing were effective and built up his confidence.

After just one lesson, Coach Brandon helped my 10 year old son refine both his pitching and fielding skills. Brandon was patient, kind, fun and inspirational. Last week my son was struggling to pitch a strike. Today, after working with Brandon, his confidence greatly improved, he pitched stronger and in the strike zone! Brandon's expertise in baseball translates into a great learning experience. My son can't wait to work with Brandon again as he trains for fall ball !!

Coach Brandon was great. I was trying out for my baseball team in a couple of weeks and we got a few sessions in before then. He was super flexible and available. We worked on most aspects of baseball including, hitting, fielding, and throwing. I improved significantly. He has his own training aids and baseballs, which we used during our sessions. Excellent instructor. Very patient and took his time to explain the fundamentals. Was able to identify key mistakes in my stride, weight shift and hand positions. Completely rebuilt my swing and had me raking shots off the wall by the end of the lesson. Highly recommended.
