More About Coach Brandon

I have coached the past 3 years at the 9-12th grade level for Owasso. I also volunteer coach younger kids from elementary school and up. I believe that my knowledge from playing the sport combined with the various age groups I have coached has allowed me to have unique perspectives on the game.

I was a U.S. Army All-American. I played college football at Oklahoma State University from 2009-2014 in that time my team went to and won the Fiesta Bowl outside of that we were consistently ranked among the top offenses in the country. I played Offensive Guard, My position group was consistently ranked among one of the top five offensive lines in the country. I also recieved the Barry Sanders award from my coaches and peers which is described as the best player with the least recognition.

On a typical work out we will start with a review/warm-up of the basic steps and movements that a lineman would take, repetion is the key to success. Following the basics we would talk and teach hand placement and leverage. To describe the warm up drill we would first do the 3 whistle drill in which it is from your stance *whistle* first step short flat step.
*second whistle* 45° angle. *third whistle* throw your hands, walk it out with short quick powerful steps. Repeat a couple of times going both ways.
Hand placement drill- *hand sparring* one player on offense and one on defense. Offensive player keeps trying to punch and grab oppenents chest, defensive player knocks offensive players hands down.
