More About Coach Brad

I have 13 years coaching and training experience, and a lifetime of playing experience.
I have coached players 4-40 years of age.
I have worked as a coach and trainer in California (SF N.Bay Area) and Houston (Cypress), Texas.
I typically work with students 8-17 years of age.
I hold a US Soccer Federation "F" License (youth 4-8) and "E" License (9-12yr) and hold a United Soccer Coaches (NSCAA) Level 1 Youth Coaching Diploma. Former Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) Coordinator and Board Member for San Rafael Youth Soccer Club. Additionally I hold a BA in Strategic Management and an MBA from Dominican University of California. I have had the opportunity to learn from some amazing coaches, players, and trainers throughout my soccer lifetime. I look forward to sharing the knowledge I’ve gained, and lessons I’ve learned. We’re going to learn, have fun, and train smart. I’ll see you out there!

My specific athletic accomplishment would have to be making my high school's soccer team my freshman year way back when. The team was very good, the competition was steep, and I was nervous. We were put through a week of tryouts. I gave it absolutely everything I had, and tried to put out my absolute best performance. I was very proud of the work I put in, and I made that team. That single life experience for me kicked off an intense love for the game, and created opportunities for me that have positively shaped my life. I conduct every session with that memory in mind. Give it your all, be proud of the work you put in, and enjoy it!
I love being a part of helping young players to better understand the game, and teaching them that practice and repetition create opportunities.
Be willing to explore and learn, give it your all, and have fun at it!
I did compete at the collegiate level. I was a redshirt freshman at Lincoln Memorial University (TN) my first year of college, and then I transferred and played at Middle Tennessee State University. I had a ton of fun playing in college, and had many memorable games while playing there. My most fond, and proudest moment was receiving All Tournament player OVC/SEC Final Four Tournament 1994. We beat University of Alabama in the Championship game to win the SCNSA Tournament for Middle Tennessee State University.

We are going to have fun while learning! Upon our first meeting we’ll discuss opportunities you see, things you’d like to work on, and we will certainly identify and work on specifics as we train. I will incorporate the basics of the sport e.g. Ball Control, Awareness, Turning, Passing, and Heads Up dribbling, which will improve your players game and boost their playing confidence!
With youth players age 4-8 I focus mainly on balance, ball control, turning, and heads up dribbling. 9-13 years I focus on those same basic skills mastery while also incorporating off the ball movement/spacial awareness, and shooting (finishing) techniques. I believe in having a strong understanding of how solid footwork, decision making, and vision really help an athlete to get the most out of their games.
Upon our first meeting I'll walk you through how I work out an athlete, so you have a better sense of how I run a session. We start out with a simple warm up consisting of rhythmic footwork steps, along with passing, and ball control exercises. We will then move to turning and dribbling exercises followed by a 1v1 walk through to explore decision making options, positioning, and possession tactics. During our 1v1 exercises I'll be looking for, and coaching up on, what we've learned throughout the session.

He always knows exactly how to explain things and which drills to do. He really cheers for these kids. I'm really glad we found out about him.

Brad was great. He was really attentive to what my child needed to work on and made her feel very comfortable. She has trained with some different people before and has never wanted to return but the moment we left she told me she couldn’t wait to go back. We will definitely be returning and would recommend him to anyone.

Brad has really helped our son develop his game, and has made the training portions of the game fun. Now I am asked when is the next Coach Brad session is - it is great to see his drive to get better.

Easy going coach

My Daughter began Soccer in Middle School at a Private Scholl. They did not have much Coaching Staff, therefore never had one-on-one learning lessons specific to her position(s). She is now in 9th Grade and is trying out for the Soccer Team at her High School. Most girls trying out have been playing for much longer or have been on Club Teams, which can be intimidating. We have had approximately 6 sessions with Coach Brad, and she is so much more confident. He is very observant and empowers her through clear direction with several ways for achieving goals on her own time, both mental and physical. His Coaching style is very motivating.

Coach brad is a great coach. My son Felix took a couple sessions with Brad and enjoyed every single session. Felix cant focus on an hour activity with any other coaches except Brad, and we can see great improvement after taken a couple of sessions: dribbling, pass, shoot, etc.Brad's training is very well structured. More importantly, he is fun and professional, kids love him a lot.

Great training

👍🏻 he’s great!

My son loves training with Coach Brad. He finished his club practice this week and I asked him what he wanted to do next. He replied-train with Coach Brad. My son and I would recommend Brad to anyone.

Coach Brad is a great coach. He gives his 100% time and effort for his student. He notices small details and corrects his student as he goes. He always encourages and supports his students. My soon is very comfortable and look forward every week to be in the field with Coach Brad.

Coach Brad has done a great job with my son. His sessions have greatly improved my son’s confidence allowing him turn the corner in his development. Coach Brad is a great communicator and very easy to work with.

If you are reading this review is because you are looking for someone to help your child to maximize their potential and improve their soccer skills. Coach Brad will be the right choice for you. He has help my son to improve his skills but also for him to be more comfortable in a competitive environment. Definitively is a work in progress but if you are willing to give coach a try, he will help your kid to achieve their goal while having "FUN" and enjoy the process.

Brad was great with my 11 year old boy and 14 year old girl!

My daughter (U9) loves training with Coach Brad. He connects with her, makes it fun and is extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommended!

Coach Brad is great!!!

L3 came away from the first session energized with the instruction that he received from Coach Brad. He's looking forward to his next session and is working on his skills "homework" this week!

Great coach!

My daughter loved her session with coach Brad! He was very honest and straight forward to her about how he can help her improve her game! I’m so glad we booked sessions with him!

Friendly, knowledgeable and flexible. My daughter enjoyed her session and is looking forward to the next one.

Phenomenal! Coach Brad’s experience, passion, and knowledge is a great asset if you’re trying to enhance your child skills or develop their appreciation for the sport. Our child, after attending a session with Coach Brad, is showing more interest in soccer and is excited to keep going. Highly recommend Coach Brad.

Amazing coach.

I didn't grow up in the era of specialization and private coaches, so I was hesitant to sign on for private training with my little girls. Through 8 sessions, I can confidently attest that this man knows his business. He is outstanding with my children; funny, patient and just a good guy to be around. His soccer knowledge is top notch and exactly what we were hoping to find. My girls have significantly improved their ball skills and footwork and looked much more confident on the ball last night at training for their club.

The girls have done each session in the middle of this brutal summer on dead grass with no wind and actually get excited for the next one to the extent that "it's too hot" doesn't come up at all. That says it all to me.

When Coach Brad spent the first 10 to 15 minutes of the session getting to know my daughter, I knew that we found not just a soccer coach, but also a coach who intends to make a positive difference in the life of the player. I wish we found him sooner, I am glad that he is coaching my daughter now. I highly recommended him.

Very knowledgeable coach and my daughter is learning a lot.

Coach Brad is an amazing coach! We bring our 9 year old son for sessions and he is so patient in his coaching style that it allows our son to have fun while developing his foundational skills! 😊

Love the connection that is being established with my son. He is focused on areas that I wish the clubs could do. This will be a great move.

Coach Brad has been great communicating and working on several skills for my daughter. She looks forward to her training sessions!

My son loves training with coach Brad. He learns something new every time he goes. I would definitely recommend Brad for your soccer training needs!

was great with my daughter. We plan to book more soon!! Great coach!

He’s already made a huge difference with just 1 session of one on one training with my daughter.

We had our first session with Coach Brad. He is very friendly, patient and great with the kids. My kids walked away ready to come back and really liked him. He is knowledgeable and relates the skills with everyday things they do on regular basis. We will be booking more sessions and look forward to working with Coach Brad.

Started our journey today with Coach Brad and got back to the basics. Breaking old habits that definitely needed to be corrected. Opened our eyes to some details of the game that we have not heard of yet. Put it in simple to understand terms with examples. Our son definitely has some work to do after being out last season with a broken leg. (Got took out by the goalie). Through the basics there will be strengthening as well as skill building with touches. Also laid out the rule for parents on the sideline to NOT LISTEN TO MOM OR DAD DURING THE GAME. LISTEN TO COACH! Would recommend highly to anyone in soccer no matter what the level. Great job and Thank You to Coach Brad!

Rob

Great knowledge on sport. Took time to analyze goals and training focus. Able to communication to younger player mindset.
Conversation was interactive to ensure my daughter understood what he wanted to coach on. Very impressed and left training excited about the future sessions.

Coach Brad is an excellent coach for youth soccer. We have know him for some time in an other training organization and extremely happy with the seasons. This week he had my son work on trying to use his hands a body to rub the offense player off the ball and this weekend games my son was able to do it 2-3 times. I recommend him to any youth for basic train not taught in soccer programs

My son was very impressed with Coach Brad during his lesson. Coach Brad made my son feel like he has played soccer for years, and it was his first introduction to soccer. We could not be more impressed.

We have been working with Coach Brad for a few months now. He is training my 9yo in 1-1 and duo sessions. The mark of improvement is incredible. He is knowledgeable and patient, which is very important for girls this age. He works with the gaps identified by the parents and team coaches as well as the opportunities that he feels is necessary from his training sessions. He has also made himself available for trainings during the season when time is lacking due to the team practices and games that are structured. We definitely recommend and support Coach Brad.

Coach Brad is exceptional. Very rarely do you get the right combo of nice and challenging. He makes my son want to try harder and has renewed his love of the sport in the middle of a pandemic.

Coach Brad has made my daughter start to love soccer again!!! He is keeping the training fun and engaging all at the same time. My daughter is looking forward to her training sessions.

Coach Brad is absolutely amazing! My 9 year old is having a blast working with him. He has a remarkable skill at getting kids to think outside the box and we've already noticed a huge improvement in our daughters skill level. Thank you Coach Brad!

This is our first experience with private soccer lessons and we have lucked out with Coach Brad. He is very patient with my daughter, and she has learned so much in the 4 sessions that she has had. He knows how to keep my daughter engaged the entire time and he has a great sense of humor that works well with kids! I am very impressed with how quickly my daughter is progressing with her soccer skills. We will definitely be booking more sessions soon!

Coach Brad has been very helpful with improving my son’s skills, working on both foot (dribbling and passing) and goalie skills. He’s very good at talking to my son and keeps him on task for the entire hour. Has definitely been a huge plus.

Great coach. Clearly knows what he’s talking about and gives great instruction in order to help you improve. Can’t speak highly enough of him.

Coach Brad was perfect for our son to work with, and we are really happy with the results. Brad posts quality feedback after each lesson, complete with "homework" for the next lesson. Our son was engaged and interested in learning more, which is always the goal! Thank you Brad!

Brad is very personable and made the session fun for my son, while still offering constructive advice and targeting goals for future sessions.

Coach Brad was great. Took the time to get to know the player. Explained everything they were working on and had patiences.

Coach Brad has been a great! I have boy/girl twins and he was able to coach both during lessons. My kids play with i9 Sports, but really needed some one-on-one instruction about technique and he has been very helpful covering many topics with the 4-lesson package. My kids learned many new skills to practice at home and they really enjoyed his enthusiasm for teaching soccer. He's been a lot of fun with the kids and I highly recommend him!

I booked four sessions with Coach Brad to help my son improving his finishing skills. After two sessions, my son already scored a goal following the techniques and advice he received from Coach Brad regarding the difference between just shooting, and finishing with finesse, control, and direction. I am looking forward to the next sessions! I would recommend coach Brad to anyone!

Coach Brad did a great job connecting with our son and get him to focus on the basics and developing his footwork. We cannot wait to see the progress our son makes as we continue to train with Brad.

Our first session was great! Brad took the time to get to know Sarah. He asked questions and got her to think about her game. He took her through some initial drills to better understand her abilities. He gave her homework and set some expectations for the next training. I am really looking forward to seeing Sarah’s game to the next level with Brad’s help.

My son is 10 years old and has been playing soccer since he was 4. Yet he hasn’t received the individual attention he needs to really improve his skills. I wish we would have found Coach Brad sooner so he had learned the right way of playing soccer from the beginning. He is very positive and encouraging and really understands where your child is coming from, which is so important for my son – to feel like he has someone who will listen and understand him instead of simply giving a bunch of commands. Coach Brad asks a lot of questions and is genuinely interested in getting to know your child, which is so wonderful to watch. My son has been quite resistant to his coaches and takes time to trust someone. But Coach Brad seemed to intuitively know how to make my son laugh and was very patient and upbeat with him. I really love how Coach Brad encouraged him to not be fearful of making mistakes and turn mistakes into something good. I could already see improvements during his first session. I highly recommend him and really look forward to more sessions with him.

Our 7-year-old daughter had her first training session with Brad yesterday, and it was a really great experience. Brad was accommodating and flexible to work around the weather, and he did a great job with her, teaching her several new techniques that really help her game. Brad is patient and knows how to capture her attention, encourage her and talk at her level. Great job all the way around and we will be signing up for many more sessions with Brad.

Coach Brad was very helpful and provided pointed directions on how to get my son’s playing technique more engaged and fun.
We will definitely get more sessions with him

Brad worked well with my son. He worked on some specific defending weaknesses that should have some immediate results as well as some broader soccer skills.

Coach Brad is absolutely awesome! He worked with my 10 year old and taught him so much in just 4 sessions. He gave my son invaluable tips and drills to practice to really up his game. He really knows his stuff and is a great communicator. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to improve their skills as a player.

Coach Brad does an amazing job at making the game fun while challenging our daughter to improve her skills. Thanks Coach Brad!!

High class coach and man. After one session already progressing my game with him.

We have been very happy with our experience with Coach Brad. Our son enjoys his training sessions and has definitely improved his soccer skills. I highly recommend!

Coach Brad is a great coach! He is extremely organized and prompt in both his sessions and emails. We appreciate the time he spends offering feedback after the sessions as well. The sessions have been excellent! He works right alongside our child and is able to quickly identify and teach skills that our child needs. He also gives work to practice on during the week to improve. We highly recommend Coach Brad!

We would highly recommend Coach Brad. He is a fantastic coach and our daughters have improved a lot since we started lessons with him. He does a great job maintaining a fun learning environment while still encouraging our kids to get out of their comfort zone and try new skills. I like how he focuses on basic stills and encourages our girls to master those skills by showing them how they apply and can be used in the game. He is always on time, great with communication and very knowledgeable. We couldn't be happier.

Couldn't ask for a better experience! Brad is obviously experienced with young kids. He made her laugh the whole time. The way he explained things made sense to her. She happily lasted through an hour in our Houston heat!

Great coach. My son had a lot of fun and got super motivated now after having a session with Brad. Brad is great in communicating and motivating. He also gave my son home work to practice during the week which sets a goal for my son to improve. Brad set races and practiced along with my son. I will continue to take sessions for my son with coach Brad.

Coach Brad was fantastic! My 8 year old son has only had one session but in that one session he made a connection with Coach Brad and renewed his love of soccer. Coach Brad's patience, enthusiasm, and knowledge were beyond expectations. Brad is a natural at coaching. We've already schedule more sessions with him knowing our son's knowledge and love of the game will continue to grow. I highly recommend him!!!

Coach Brad worked well with our son to improve his touch and ball control. He was a good communicator and kept us up to date when we had to reschedule due to weather. My son liked working with him and will plan to continue working with Brad next season.

Coach Brad is an excellent Coach. After one session with my 13 year old, I feel like he has opened his eyes up to playing the game a whole new way. My son is really excited to be able to use the mental and physical techniques that Coach Brad has given him to use during this next weeks practice and games. It was great to hear my son open up about the troubles he was having on his select team to Coach Brad. The advise Coach Brad gave my son to deal with the adversities he is facing was spot on. Coach Brad is a wonderful teacher who is very dedicated to the sport and teaching it to the kids at a reasonable rate. You can tell its not about the money, it's about passing on the knowledge he has gained throughout his career on to the next generation of soccer players. If your son or daughter would love to learn more about the game both from physical and mental side and have fun doing it, then Coach Brad is the Coach for you.
