Bob Y.

Bob Yoder is the founder of Tai Shu Do "The Way of Supreme Techniques". He has over 38 years of experience in the martial arts and has taught thousands students to include Corrections Personal, Law Enforcement Officers, Security Officers, Bodyguards, Bouncers, and even members of the United States Military. He was a registered Unarmed Self-Defense instructor for the Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections. He instructed Basic and Advanced Unarmed Self Defense for the State of Ohio Corrections and Franklin County Corrections. He also served in the U.S. Air Force as a Security Forces Member.

He created Tai Shu Do after studying various styles of martial arts for many years and achieving various ranks to include black belt / instructor rankings in several styles of martial arts. He continues to study the martial arts to this day and believes that a true martial artist never stops studying.

A favorite quote of his is: Blend all tactics and skills. The more one knows, the better, for it is far better to have the knowledge and not the need, than to have the need and not the knowledge. But.. also, if knowledge is power, then the power of knowledge is truth. Seek it!

Many of his students that have studied under other instructors before coming to him have said that they have learned more from him in their first month than they did in several months of training they received from other previous instructors. That is because he trains his students in a no nonsense easy to understand manner. It is up to the student if they want to train in a traditional martial arts uniform or sweats. The student has the option of receiving traditional training where they progress through belts and receive certified ranking or if they wish to study in a strictly self-defense manner.

Besides Martial Arts Mr. Yoder is also an Official BDFS Anti-Bullying Certified Instructor for the State of Ohio, Certified Sports Performance Coach, Personal Fitness Trainer, Senior Fitness Instructor, Certified Life Coach, a Tai Chi / Chi Gung, Yoga Instructor, and CPR AED FIRST AID certified through NHCPS. He also belongs to a wide assortment of martial arts associations, clubs, councils, confederations, federations, organizations, and societies. He is a Christian as well as a Theo-Centric Martial Arts Chaplain. He is also a Freemason of the Neoacacia Masonic Lodge No. 595 Free & Accepted Masons. He believes that it is his God given calling in life to unite as many open minded martial artists and their organizations as he can so that they may share in their knowledge. Since 1993, Bob Yoder's Kung Fu Academy has been providing instruction in Kung Fu, Kickboxing and the martial arts in the Grove City, OH area.

Tai Shu Do 太術道 when translated is "The Way of Supreme Techniques" and it is a fantastic style of martial art for both self defense and physical fitness.

Tai Shu Do is a combination of several different styles of martial arts uniquely blended to provide the most realistic combat self defense for the streets.

Techniques include but are not limited to empty hand fighting using all forms of striking, punching, kicking, knee strikes, elbow strikes, choke holds, joint locks, throws, pressure points and ground fighting. This complete combination of different styles makes Tai Shu Do one of the most efficient forms of self-defense.

Mastery also requires the use of traditional weapons. Modern day training defending oneself against knives, guns and other potential arms are thoroughly trained as well.

Tai Shu Do major influences are American & Muay Thai Kickboxing, Kenpo Karate, Aikido, JuJitsu, and Shaolin Iron Tiger Kung Fu. There are also many various minor influences.

Bob Yoder's Kung Fu Academy is the only marital arts school to feature the 6 taught as 1 program for people of all ages who want the most comprehensive conditioning and self-defense skills available.

What is Kung Fu?

Kung Fu means "skill and effort" and can describe anything that one needs to spend time training in and becoming skillful in. When it means "martial art," Kung Fu refers to the hundreds of styles of martial arts, all of which are different. However, there is one thing that all martial arts have in common and that is the idea that Kung Fu itself is merely skill of techniques.

The real value of martial arts goes beyond self defense. It lies within the strong traditional training that all Kung Fu styles emphasize: training that teaches the student to respect the teacher and the teacher's advice; to be respectful towards other Kung Fu styles and to only use Kung Fu in a morally correct manner.

This is why we refer to Tai Shu Do as Kung Fu.

Headed by Bob Yoder (Founder) and a staff of expert instructors and managers, Bob Yoder's Kung Fu Academy offers a number of programs for physical fitness and instruction in Kung Fu, Kickboxing, and the Martial Arts.

Though out my 38 years in the martial arts I have come to realize that I've found my meaning of life was finding my gift with is the martial arts. Have some sort of basic self defense because you will never know when you may be confronted by an attacker,

It may very well be a person trying to grab your handbag, or your wallet, or wanting to assault/attack you for

Know reason, and this is where I will teach you how to deal with a situation correctly. There are generally,

Two ways an attracter will attack, from the front grabbing your wrists,shoulders,neck, from behind grabbing,

Your waist,shoulders,neck, and your hair. Just a few simple steps we will show you how to correctly defend,

Yourself in any situation. Having self defense know how will give piece of mind to go where ever you like and,

Do what ever you want, and NOT having any worry in the back of your mind. This is called SELF CONFIDENCE.

Personal Training

Here I offer a personal 1-2-1 training service in all aspects of fitness, for all fitness levels for both men and women of any age,

Either in the comfort of your own home or the gym. Or even just to start off with road walking and build from there.

I also offer group personal training as well for sports teams, businesses, social groups ect.

(2) Set realistic targets- benchmarks will help you to keep going, but dont expect to be a size ten in two months, if your a size sixteen now.
