Bill Perkins is entering his 22nd season on the Huskies coaching staff, moving from the defensive line to handle strength and conditioning for the athletic department.

During his tenure, Perkins has coached 28 players to first team All-PSAC East honors, 23 players to second team all-conference honors and three players have been recognized as All-Americans (Gary Fittery, Jon Ochs and Larry Webster). Larry Webster was also a fourth-round draft pick by the Detroit Lions and is currently entering his second year with the NFL Central Division team.

Perkins is a 1989 graduate of Slippery Rock University. At the Rock, Perkins played in 38 of 40 games as a defensive tackle from 1986-89. He registered 129 career tackles and was honored as a PSAC West second team selection in 1989. He played his senior year under current SRU Head Coach George Mihalik, and he was coached by the late 1956 WVU All-American Joe Kopnisky who played in the East/West Shrine Game and Senior Bowl and was later drafted by the NFL’s Chicago Cardinals.
