I have extensive experience coaching and training athletes at various levels. I've coached at the high school level focusing on basketball and fitness training. I've also worked as a personal trainer, specializing in mobility and flexibility for overall well-being. I have coached youth athletes, ranging from ages 5 to 18+. My coaching philosophy emphasizes not only the physical aspects of training but also the mental and emotional aspects, drawing on my background in psychology. I am also a certified flexologist through StretchLab, which has equipped me with specialized knowledge in flexibility training, injury prevention, and overall performance enhancement.
I played four years of Division 1 basketball at Hampton University, where I earned my bachelor's degree in psychology. During my collegiate career, I achieved several athletic accomplishments, including rookie of the year. My time as a Division 1 athlete has given me a deep understanding of the physical and mental demands of high-level sports and has shaped my approach to coaching and training.
A client can expect a dynamic and engaging session focused on improving their mobility, flexibility, and overall fitness level. Each session is tailored to the individual's goals and abilities, whether they are looking to enhance their athletic performance or simply improve with different aspects of the game.I design a series of dynamic stretches, mobility exercises, and strength training drills to target those specific areas. A typical session might start with a dynamic warm-up to increase blood flow and prepare the muscles for exercise. I often incorporate basketball-specific drills and techniques to improve agility, footwork, and overall basketball skills. Throughout the session, I emphasize proper form and technique to prevent injury and maximize effectiveness. I also incorporate mental skills training, such as visualization and focus exercises, to help athletes perform at their best. By the end of the session, clients can expect to feel more mobile, flexible, and energized, with a greater understanding of how to maintain their progress outside of our sessions.
