More About Coach Barron

I am currently on my 13th year of running competitively and during those 13 years I have learned just about every thing to know about training and becoming a successful athlete. I have been on numerous types of teams including: clubs, middle school, high school, college, and now an Elite post-collegiate. Over the years I have mentored runners of all ages to help prefect their craft of become stronger, faster, and, most importantly, healthy athletes.

Awards/Accomplishments:
USTFCCCA Division II Second-Team All-American & 2 Time Finalist (3K Steeplechase)
2 Time USTFCCCA Division II All-West Region (3K Steeplechase)
3 Time NCAA National Qualifier (XC & Track)
2012 California JC State Champion & All-American (3k Steeplechase)
2011 USA Junior Nationals Qualifier for 3k Steeplechase
3 Time CCAA All-Conference (XC & Track)
5 Time Junior Olympic Qualifier

I have competed in college and am now pursuing my post-collegiate career, hoping to make the Dutch National team. I have competed at the NCAA Nationals, Mt. Sac, Junior Olympics, and various other meets.

My approach first of is making the athlete understand that EVERY RUNNER IS DIFFERENT. Working individually with a runner is the most important aspect I have come to learn over the past 13 years of competitive running.
How, What, Where Stage, is a 3 question list that determines the personal goals they want to achieve.
1. How many miles have you run/do you currently run?
2. What are Your goals in running? (What races, times, or fitness to you want to achieve)
3. Where do you want to compete? (example: Marathon, Nationals, 5k, etc.)
After we discuss these questions a Personal Milage Plan will be provided to follow. The purpose of these three questions helps me determine the correct caliber of training specified for the athlete. The main focus will focus on determining correct running form through numerous form drills and also doing strength training that will help maintain the athletes health. Depending on the day, each session will include either: workout (warm up, workout, cool down), recovery run (aerobic run, drills, strength training), long run (longer aerobic run).
