More About Coach Ashlee

I have been coaching athletes for over 10 years now. At 16, I coached at Junior Cal Coast Track Club. The athlete's ages ranged from 9-14 years old. During that time, I also did private coaching as well. In college, I continued private coaching and had clients ranging from the ages of 9 to 45. In 2018, I accepted a head coaching job for Geffen Academy's Middle School Cross Country team. I coached both the boy's and girl's teams (approximately 40 athletes). I coached the boys to the school's first league championship (across all sports) and the girl's team to a 2nd place finish. Since leaving the program, I have returned to private coaching and am a USATF Certified coach. My personal experience as an athlete who has overcome career-ending injuries and revived my running career post-college allows me to help my athletes at any stage of their running.

On January 11, 2022, the Boston Marathon announced their fastest and most decorated women’s pro field, selecting me as one of the professional runners toeing the line for the 126th Boston Marathon. You can view my highlights in bio on ig gogo.powers

In 2019, I debuted in the marathon at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. I placed 24th with a time of 2:39:04 and qualified for the 2020 US Olympic Trials. In high school, I was a member of the Corona del Mar National Ranked team and helped the team place 10th at Nike Cross Nationals. In December 2020, I was accepted into a Pro-only marathon (The Marathon Project) and ran a PR of 2:38.20. This spring, I returned to the track and ran a PR in 10,000m with a time of 33:56. Currently, I am training for the Boston Marathon and a 2024 Olympic hopeful in the marathon.

Depending on your location, I offer in-person as well as online coaching. I will outline an in-person session:
Sessions will either be a running workout (intervals/tempos) or a strength training (plyometrics) session. We will warm up together and then I will walk you through Dynamic Stretching. Once our stretching is complete, I will give you the workout for the day depending on your distance and goal race pace. After you complete the workout, I will have you cool down and then I will give you core exercises before we go into post-workout stretches and rehab.

Online coaching, will begin with a free consultation where we go over your training, goals, and nutrition. I will then create a personalized training plan and upload it on Final Surge. There you will also find videos for injury prevention, core, strengthening, and more! All athletes will have Zoom update meetings with me at least once a month. My unlimited clients will have unlimited communication with me via email, phone, text, or any other method!

Client Reviews

Prior to working with Ashlee I had never seen a running coach before and learned all I knew about running from the internet. I wanted to run a half marathon in 6 weeks, but had serious calf pain and didn't think it would be possible. I had never run more than 6 miles in a day and was solely an indoor (treadmill) runner...13.1 miles seemed impossible. My first lesson Ashlee taught me the different parts of the feet to land on while running, and within a week of my first lesson my calf pain was entirely eliminated. 6 weeks later I ran the Las Vegas Half Marathon (13.1 miles!) in 2:07:00....my goal at the start of training was 2:30:00. My confidence and finishing time for a first time runner speaks to Ashlee's incredible ability as a coach & instructor. I highly recommend her!

Coach Ashlee trained two of my daughters in middle school. She is very hands-on and patient with the different abilities. I was amazed by how excited my daughters were to go to their sessions. We hired Coach Ashlee to help with their form and build endurance. One of my daughters was having issues with her shoes, Coach Ashlee offered to join us at the running store to help pick the right pair of shoes. I really appreciated that because I knew nothing about running the store overwhelmed me! Both my daughters improved their running form and were able to run personal bests in the mile that season
I used to hate running. Several years ago, I made a goal that I would run a 5k. My friend referred me to Ashlee and she helped me go from never running to completing my first ever 5k. Her positivity and belief in your abilities make a difference. She has a lot of knowledge about running and can help you overcome any obstacle. I now enjoy running and plan to train for a 10k next
