More About Coach Arnold

I have over 12 years of basketball coaching experience that deals mainly with individual guard, forward , and post player training and team aspect style if coaching. I have had the opportunity to Coach in Colorado at Northeastern Junior College, Sterling high school, and Sterling middle school. I've had the opportunity to develope players that have made; 4 First-team All-State players, 6 Second-Team All State players, 1 Player of the Year, 2 Conference Championships, NJCAA #1 Leading Scorer in Nation, 2 All- Conference players, and 1 Regional Conference title. Currently I am certified in CPR, Concussion protocol, and ASEP Coaching. Recently certified as a USA Youth Basketball Development Coach 2017-2018.

As a player I started playing basketball in Baltimore, Md at Woodlawn high school as a power foward in high school in 1997. From there I was starting small forward and team captain for the Kennedy-King Statesmen in Chicago,Il where I played for 2 years. During my years at Kennedy-king we had some successful seasons but never made it past second rounds of regional NJCAA playoffs. Graduated with an A.A. Degree in General Studies in 2002. Then transferred to the University of South Carolina in Columbia,SC on a athletic scholarship in 2003. At SC I was designated 6th man my junior year with co-captain honors and my senior year I started 12 games in the season but then suffered a dislocated shoulder and torn rotator cup in 2005. I did help win a conference title and finished up m degree at the University of Adams State.

A typical training session will consist of basic to advance warmups or stretches. I always start out with stationary or cone drill 2 ball dribbling or 1 ball dribbling, then incorporate passing with ball handling, the dribble pass shoot scenerios. Once that is complete multiple fundamental shooting drills, then advance shooting or screen shooting or coming off screen shooting depending on position preferably. Then post action face up, pivot jabs, and. Block moves.
