Arno has been involved in Track & Field since 1957. He was a jumper for Richmond HS, Contra Costa Community College (1968 Golden Gate Conference, NOR CAL JC Champ), CAL State Hayward..
He was formerly the Assistant Coach at Berkeley High School and Berkeley Eastbay TC (1974-1984) Sprints, Hurdles and Jumps. He is coaching currently at James Logan High School and Mission Valley Track and Field Club specializing in the Jumps.

Coach Brewer is one of a select group High School Coaches to coach eight California State Championship teams.

High School Boys: High jump; two above 7’2”, Long Jump; one over 25’, 2 above 24’0”, 10 above 23’0”, Triple Jump; two greater than 52 foot, another over 50 feet and 8 others between 48-50 feet.
High School Girls: Long Jump; 13 beyond 19’2”, Triple Jump; One 43’+, two beyond 42 foot, 2 over 41 feet, 2 over 40 feet and 3others over 39 feet, in addition 4 High Jumpers with clearances above 5’8”.

Daughter Ciarra Brewer is National Sophomore Record Holder Indoor Triple Jump 42’0.5” Outdoor performance at 43’4.25” 2009 USATF World Youth Team Trials.
