More About Coach Angelo
I have experience training high level high school athletes and have also worked out alongside NBA and collegiate players, which has strengthened my understanding of advanced skill development and game preparation. I currently serve as an assistant coach at Mater Dei High School, where I help develop student athletes both on and off the court.
I have coached primarily at the middle school and high school levels, with a strong focus on player development, fundamentals, and basketball IQ. I work with athletes of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced players preparing for the next level.
Played at Mission Bay/ San Ysidro High School
San Diego Tribune League Player of the Year (2022)
1st Team All Freshman Golden State Athletic Conference (OUAZ)
Played at a NAIA D1 program (Ottawa University of Arizona)
Played at NCAA D2 Program (Cal State San Marcos)
In a typical session, clients can expect game focused training that directly translates to real competition. We do not do random drills. Everything we work on connects to situations they will see in games.
We start by reviewing film to break down what they are doing well and what needs improvement. Then we build the workout around those areas. Sessions focus on ball handling, shooting, pick and roll reads, playing off two feet, and strong pivot work. I also emphasize decision making, pace, and footwork.
I specialize in training point guards because I played the position myself, so I focus heavily on leadership, court vision, and making the right reads under pressure.
