More About Coach Andrew
I have been in involved in the Martial Arts (Karate, Boxing, Muay Thai, Jiu-jitsu, and Judo) for 30 years. Within the past 10 years, I have also competed on an amateur level, in strongman contest, various forms of grappling competitions and Muay Thai. My passion for fitness stems from these past experiences and has grown to involve nutrition research and a whole new outlook onto fitness training. I have combined my current and past training experiences to develop a system that not only improves the body and mind but takes these attributes to produce a body that deliver self-protection when the situation arises.
I have been training individuals for the past 20 years in the martial arts and for the past 10 years in fitness with a certificate through ACTION Personal Training. I believe that if I can show you who to train yourself properly, then you will have the necessary tools to keep yourself going throughout your life time. My job is to have you become self-sufficient so that you won't need me. I specialize in strength and conditioning, through this you will lose weight and become a better you for it.
I have an 8-4 Muay Thai amateur record, competed in various submission and grappling tournaments, ranging from sport jiu-jitsu and judo, coach high school wrestling, and competed in strongman contests.
During a training session, a client can expect to focus on strength training. They will do a light warm-up to get the body warm, then they will proceed to the actually training session. For the first couple of weeks, they will learn how to control their bodies with proper bodyweight training two to three days a week and with that we will develop "go-to" muscles. This is where I will add in some self-defense techniques also like how to use the elbows and knees. After about a month, basic weight training will be incorporated too. Depending on the client and their age, physical limitations and goals will drive the training direction. Each session will run any where from 30 mins to 1 hour.
