I train anyone with a defined goal and the courage to step outside their comfort zone to achieve it. I have taught Yoga and personal trained D1 college athletes, working professionals, and stay at home moms. My goal is to provide you with the skills, techniques, and tactics necessary to live life at your optimal health.
I played competitive soccer my whole life until I realized that I had to choose between the library and the soccer field because my college major of Micro Biology would not permit me to do both with my adolescent time management skills. So i chose the library which left my mind engaged and sharp but my body heavy and sedentary. Until my college girlfriend dragged me to a Bikram Yoga class for my first Yoga experience. In a 105 degree room crammed like sardines, I watched watched exhausted and astonished as men and women twice my age got through the class with grace and ease, as I struggled to catch my breath for 90 minutes of HELL on Earth. That day marked the epiphany moment I needed to make the decision to get myself back into shape! Immediately I knew that Yoga provided the perfect combination of self discipline and challenge I needed to continuously push myself to new heights.
Since then I have been hooked and completed my Yoga Teacher Training at the prestigious Yoga Centre in San Luis Obispo under the steady watch of master teacher Rocky Heron and Jen Bobbitt. In the last two years my teaching has lead me to teach packed Handstand Workshops on white sand beaches to providing single mothers with the peace of mind needed to achieve their individual health goals in weigh loss and well being.
Whether your goal be to touch your toes, lose 10 lbs, or stick your next 10 second handstand; I can provide you with the tools needed to make sustainable practice a habitual process to reach your idea of SUCCESS.
A typical session will include a baseline evaluation for the day to determine our starting point. Foundation is key for sustainable progress so my trainings usually start with balance work to engage the muscles of the feet and legs while sharpening the mind and reflexes. Then we attack the core, lower back, and chest with dynamic stretches that not only relieve tension in the most stiff areas but also strengthen muscles while burning fat, helping you look as good as you feel!
My sessions end in affirmations and visualization of our fundamental achievements to bring forth positive progress towards our ultimate goal. Everything is quantified by data analysis, timely measurements, and logged to be shared with you, the client so you can keep yourself accountable with my support. The whole session concludes with a meditative cool down that usually involves a thia massage like stretch session and light physical therapy to release areas of misalignment or painful tension.
