More About Coach Andreu

I have been coaching private and group lessons for over 8 years both in Spain and in the US. I have coached at some of the most competitive academies in the world. A few years ago, I was in charge of the Summer Tennis Camp at Tennis Academy Mallorca where I coached people from all ages and all levels. Currently I am and independent pro as well as the assistant coach for the St. Thomas Aquinas College Team, a top 2 east region team. Since I have been trained and advised by top coaches like Jofre Porta, former Carlos Moya (former # 1 in the world) and Rafa Nadal´s coach, I know all the drills, tips and tricks that made these players become successful. So what are you waiting to find them out?
Please do not contact me if you are not serious about bringing your tennis to the next level! I am a very engaging and motivating coach and make my students give their 100% in each lesson. I believe, like everything in life, no real change happens unless you are out of your comfort zone.

I have played several ITF professional tournaments back in Spain. My best rankings were #313 in Spain open category when I was 17 and top 15 in Spain from players born in 1996. As a college player I have lead my team as a captain to become Regionally Ranked in the East Region for the first time in school history. Moreover, I broke several school records: I am now the current leader in singles, doubles and combined wins, and holds the single-season record in singles (17), doubles (16) and combined (33) wins. I have been named to the ECC All-Conference First Team my senior year and Second Team my sophomore year. I have also been recognized as the MVP of the team for three years in a row. This last year I have been named twice East Coast Conference men´s tennis player of the week and recognized as Spartan Athlete of the Month for March for my school after going 12-0. Moreover, after the season I was awarded as Male Scholar-Athelete of the year for the East Coast Conference. Highest UTR was 11.41 in singles.

My coaching style is very flexible and personalized for the needs of the student. I am a very engaging and motivating coach so I manage to make my students give their 100% in each lesson. In my first lesson with a student I like to test my student in all areas of the game so I can therefore customize every exercise of the lesson to maximize the results. I like to feed balls with my hand, something completely forgot in the US, since it has been proved to make major improvements in my student´s game. I do not like to just focus on stroke technique but I also focus on improving my students’ mentality and Tennis IQ by telling them the most advanced tactics of the game. Moreover, I like to really focus on improving the footwork and showing the importance of your leg movement and coordination in the game (something forgot by many coaches). I do hundreds of different drills to improve the weaknesses and sharpen the strengths of my students. Moreover I can also do some heavy hitting and really high intensity drills for the most advanced players. Group lessons are also available starting at $30/h

Client Reviews

Coach Andreu is an amazing coach and person and pleasure to be around on the court as he creates comfortable environment. I was not playing tennis from a lot of time and I felt I needed to start all over again. Coach Andreu is very knowledgeable, gives great insights and has a lot of patience. He challenges me and makes me improve every lesson. I give him the highest recommendation without reservation!

Coach Andreu is an amazing tennis instructor, coach, and trainer. He is an unusually gifted teacher, with excellent skills of observation and communication. His ability to quickly evaluate my technique and focus on critical aspects in an encouraging and supportive way has improved my game dramatically in the time I've had the opportunity to work with him. As an experienced coach, he has an excellent understanding of how much (or little) instruction to give at once, and adapts his lessons according to the player's needs at the time. Having seen him work with various students, beginners as well as high-level (and people like me, in the middle), I can say that he is definitely not a one-size-fits-all instructor whether in privates or group clinics.

As important, he's an enthusiastic person, who is attentive and engaged, with a genuine love for tennis, which makes the sessions enjoyable, even when you're working through challenges. He's also an excellent player himself, so hitting with him is a lot of fun.

I've had the opportunity to work with a lot of coaches and can honestly say that Andreu is the most consistently helpful I've ever had and always look forward to a lesson with him.

Coach Andreu is amazing! He helped my daughter improve her game even after one lesson. He focuses on strategy and form! Best instructor we have had!

I've only been playing tennis for about 1.5 years, so would class myself as a beginner. I took group lessons, drills and played doubles occasionally. I can safely say of all the lessons I've had, Coach Andreu was the best coach I’ve ever had.

Coach Andreu not only corrects your bad habits that I’ve built by just watching countless hours of YouTube lessons but didn’t realize my mental images of those shots weren’t necessarily translate into right mechanics on the court, but also drills you on the basics and structures your lessons according to your needs.

I really cannot recommend Coach Andreu highly enough. He can really can open the door for your tennis to improve!

I’ve had 2 lessons with Coach Andreu so far. I knew after the 1st one that I wanted to continue with him. He’s kind, but straightforward. He assesses and explains well. He listened to my goals that I laid out on Day 1 and is tailoring our sessions to meet those goals. Overall, cool guy, great coach.

Coach Andreu is an excellent coach, professional in the attitude he holds, amazing in the techniques he teaches. Most importantly, he is great in the pedagogy he applies in coaching. For example, Instead of giving you answers directly each time, he actually inspired you to think and reflect, which turns the learning experience from passive repeating to active and effective learning.
Besides, It is never easy to teach someone who actually set the step on the tennis court for the very first time, but Andreu always stays patient, supportive, and encouraging, which boosts my interests and techniques enormously. Therefore, It is definitely the wise choice to have Coach Andreu and embark on the tennis journey!

After many years of tennis lessons, it was obvious to me after my initial lesson with Coach Andreu that his prior training has been at a high level. His instructional techniques are superb along with his ability to effectively communicate these drills and helpful hints. His style of teaching is extremely motivational and at the same time kind, bringing out the best in each player. I personally look forward to every upcoming lesson and know that my game continues to trend upward due to Coach Andreu.

Coach Andreu is the best coach I have had since I began taking lessons 10 years ago. What makes Andreu stand out from all the others is he true passion to make you the best tennis player you can be. Andreu can coach anyone from little toddlers to Seniors. He has played with the best international players and now coaches at the collegiate level. Lessons with Andreu are never the same. He mixes up the drills and always asks us if there is a specific skill we would like to focus on. I highly recommend taking lessons with Andreu. He also is fluent in 3 languages including English, Spanish and Catalan.

Coach Andreu was excellent. He quickly understood my playing level and was able show me how to improve my game. I really enjoyed his coaching style and personality. I will be taking many more lessons with him.

Coach Andreu is fantastic! I am 4.0 adult player that has been taking lessons consistently over the past 7 years, and was incredibly pleased by Andreu´s knowledge. Despite his young age, he was able to inmediately identify my weak backhand and my 2nd serve and map out a plan to get better at it. A few sessions after I felt much more confident on my backhand as well as my kick serve. His methodology is one that I yet had not seen around Rockland Country and it really worked out for me! Now I also plan on enrolling my kid in his junior program. Defintely would recommend Andreu to anyone that wants to learn the game of tennis!

About a year and a half ago my husband, who is a longtime tennis player, wanted to improve his backhand. He took some lessons from Andreu and was extremely impressed. He suggested that I take some lessons. I was a complete beginner, but I wanted to be able to play a little with my husband. Andreu took me from holding a racket through the very basics with his patience, clear explanations and motivating style. He has a keen eye and is able to analyze and correct every aspect of my tennis game, both the mental and the physical. As a retired teacher, I was completely impressed by his ability to explain with great clarity what I needed to do and gradually increase my skills over time. I have been Andreu's student for almost a year and a half. He pushes me just the right amount to make me want to improve without feeling frustrated. I am obsessed with tennis now because of him and my newfound love of the game. He is truly a gifted instructor!

Andreu is an excellent, friendly, encouraging coach who first evaluates and then tried to tweak and improve step by step.

I started with no instruction or knowledge and feel that after just a bit of time that my game has consistently improved.

Coach Andreu very quickly saw the holes in my game and technique and came up with a plan to help me improve. He's also open to hearing my ideas and fielding all my questions. He doesn't over-coach and finds succinct ways to explain complex movements which is a really rare skill in tennis. Another bonus is that he's from Spain and I love learning about the Spanish style of training.

I've had a lot of mediocre tennis coaches and I only understood that once I've started training with Andreu. Despite his young age, his breadth of knowledge is extensive and his on-court experience is apparent immediately both as a player and as a coach. I've always been turned off by 'do as I say not as I do' coaches who are more than happy to analyze your strokes while conveniently ignoring their own sub-par technique and fortunately Andreu is as far from that as it gets. You can count on Andreu to lead by example and show you proper form and technique honed from a young age and playing competitively through high school and college. Off-court Andreu is very personable and is more than happy (and patient) to answer the plethora of tennis questions I always seem to have.

Coach Andreu is an amazing coach. Very responsive and flexible schedule. My first time playing tennis and he made it enjoyable. Definitely moving forward with more lessons / package!

I really enjoyed the session. Coach Andreu was very kind and professional with grate coaching skills.
We worked on everything being that it’s my first lesson with coach Andreu. It was a great experience for me. I will defiantly book more lessons and highly recommend Andreu for one on one training. Looking forward for my next lesson.

Andreu is a very charismatic, insightful and very knowledgeable tennis coach. He is extremely passionate which for sure shows in his teaching methods. I have been training competitively and playing matches for over 12 years now in both USTA and collegiate matches. I always struggled on my forehand, footwork and second serve for as long as I can remember. My forehand has never been very consistent, my footwork is not the fastest and my second serve does not have enough kick. After a few sessions with coach Andreu my consistency is much greater with some technical changes, my kick serve is more powerful, has much more spin which makes me feel much more confident and my footwork is much better when I adjust to hit my shots. I am very grateful I found Andreu because I can thank him for achieving my goal in such a short period of time.

Andreu is a terrific coach. When I came to the first lesson with him, I was afraid I was not going to get the results I wanted. He is very young. However, since the first minute I realized how much knowledge he has about the game and how great he understand what are the best teaching mechanisms. He has a different approach that some of the other American coaches I have been coached by. Instead of just feeding balls with his racket from half-court, he made the lesson more engaging by me feeding balls with his hand, which made me increase my intensity. Moreover, he gave me some tips for my stuggling serve about ball tossing and the path that the racket has to follow. I noticed big improvements in my power as well as my 2nd serve consistency since the first lesson! Andreu also created some drills that were very challenging and fun at the same time. I believe Andreu is a fantastic coach due to his motivation that he transfers to the students, the crazy knowledge he has and the different style of teaching tennis. I have been with him for over 4 months and I am super happy with the improvements I made.
