More About Coach Amber

I have been coaching for 5+ years at the high school level. I was the Assistant Track & Field Coach at Poly Prep Country Day School in which I sent various athletes to colleges such as Cornell, DuPaw and Williams College. I have also worked with colleges such as NYU and John Jay. I typically work with middle to high school aged kids, however I am open and knowledgeable to train and work with any age group. I am currently a Licensed and Certified Athletic Trainer as well and CPR/First Aid Certified. I also have a background and training in strength and conditioning, corrective exercise, and performance enhancement.

I am a former Division I Athlete - LIU Brooklyn. My specialty events were the 60m, 100m, 200m, relays (4x1,4x2,4x4) and long jump. NEC Conference Honors in events such as the 60m. dash, 100m. and relays. Was also apart of the 4x1 relay team that qualified to compete at the 2010-2011 NCAA Regional Championships.

A typical session with me is first understanding the client's short and long term goals. I like to understand the vision of the client and keep them engaged in their session so that they too feel they have input into their regime, its all about growth. My focus will vary on the client depending if they want to focus on primarily technique, speed (speed endurance, speed resistance, endurance), strengthening, etc. Will always begin a session with a warm up, stretching, followed by drills. From there we will dive into the workout for that day again this will depend on the events that said client runs and/or goals that client is aiming to achieve.

Client Reviews

Amber was very knowledgeable and provides a great routine for my daughter to build on.

My daughter is new to track and Amber was great. She showed different techniques and explaining the purpose of each of them. I would def recommend her!

Amber is very knowledgeable, professional and compassionate. She really tuned in to my daughters skill set and needs. Amber also provided us with detailed activities to do between coaching sessions along with realistic and attainable goals. I'm looking forward to seeing my daughter grow and achieve her goals under Amber's guidance.

Very knowledgeable! Amber’s expertise and experience provided my high schooler with insight that prior coaches had not provided or just didn’t know. My son is thankful that Amber’s guidance allowed my child the ability to recognize these poor habits and will have enough time to change before college. I believe he will become a better athlete once he is able to be trained properly. I am confident over time, Amber will get him to a much more competitive level which will pay off in the near future.

Coach Amber was so easy going. She made my daughter feel very comfortable but she worked her but off all in one. Will definitely be looking forward to more trainings with this awesome coach.

Great long jump background. She will work fundamentals, including stretching (static and dynamic), conditioning, bounding, and b skip arm action. Physically more conditioning heavy. And was kind enough to drive 40+ minutes to meet me

I joined the track team sophomore year as an after-school activity to do with my friends, but Coach Heath made it one of the highlights of my high school experience. Her passion for the sport was contagious, and I continued to compete until my senior year. Through her encouragement and guidance, I improved immensely. Thank you to Coach Heath, who taught me to believe in myself and not be afraid of trying new things. I would highly recommend Coach Heath to any athlete or team because I can guarantee you a great experience!
Coach Heath possesses every quality you want and need in a great coach. She is selfless, dedicated, and passionate. More importantly, she instills these same qualities in her athletes while pushing each of them to improve and succeed. I cannot emphasize enough how vital Coach Heath's presence has been in my life, on and off the track. Through her discipline and support these past five years, I am well prepared to compete in college. I would not hesitate to recommend Coach Heath's expertise because she not only builds a well-conditioned athlete but a confident competitor who believes in their ability to achieve greatness.
