More About Coach Allen

I started coaching lacrosse when my daughters entered high school, and continued long after they graduated. I've taught scores of beginners, and have helped a few players to go on to D1 colleges. I hold both Level 1 and Level 2 Coaching Certifications from US Lacrosse.

In High School, I played at Phillips Andover Academy, one of the best prep school programs in the country. I played club lacrosse at University of Colorado at Boulder, and after graduating played a little bit of club at Berkely.

Each session will be tailored to the individual's desired position and current skill level. For example, if working with a freshman who is unsure of their preferred position and with limited playing experience, the emphasis will be on basic stick work and overall conditioning. If working with a senior attacker, the emphasis will be on off hand development, advanced dodges and shooting from multiple angles.

Coach Allen has been a terrific private coach for my 14 year old in her second year of lacrosse! He has been absolutely wonderful. His years of coaching lacrosse shine through which is why we make the near 1 hr drive to and from San Francisco to San Ramon on the weekends for lessons! I've been taking lacrosse lessons with Coach Al for a few months now, and I have rapidly improved! I had nearly no experience when I started out, but now, I've gained confidence and skill with the stick! Coach Al is a great mentor and I look forward to our classes every week!

My daughter began playing lacrosse earlier this year. In the first lesson with Coach Allen, she already learned a lot and Coach Allen is great. He explained what my daughter is good at, what she needs to work on, and how she can improve in a clear concise manner. For every skill, he taught her “why” a certain move in a specific form is important in a game, which I think only an experienced coach like Coach Allen can do. We live far from San Ramon, but we feel it’s worth travelling there to receive a high quality lesson from Coach Allen.

Allen was awesome. My son has never played Lacrosse before, but wants to play in high school. We came to Allen to have him learn the basics and Allen was the perfect person to teach him. Our son enjoyed himself so much, we will be booking several more lessons with him!

Coach Allen was great with my two boys who are just learning to play! He was patient, kind and taught them a lot of basic skills. The boys had a blast and are excited to keep playing and do more sessions with Coach.
