More About Coach Aliou
I have several years of experience coaching and training athletes across a range of age groups and competitive levels. I’ve worked primarily with high school and collegiate athletes, focusing on skill development and helping kids become better athletes and people. My background includes strength and conditioning coaching. I’ve coached at Purple Rain, where I led training programs for student-athletes, implemented individualized workout plans, and collaborated with athletic trainers to ensure safe progression. Additionally, I’ve held private training sessions with youth athletes (ages 10–18), helping them build foundational strength, agility, and confidence in their sport.
I'm still a student in college, but I have had some athletic accomplishments. This past year, I won player of the year for my conference, First team all conference, First team all region, All-tournament, and also tournament MVP. I also had 8 player of the weeks for my school and 3-time player of the week for my conference. I currently compete at the University of Bridgeport, but I plan on transferring to play division 1 basketball. My ultimate goal is to end up playing professional basketball overseas.
Typically, during a session, I will start with some stretching, and then I will continue to ball handling. We will do ball handling for about 10 minutes. After that, we will get into some skilled development, which is finishing touches and also more ball handling while finishing at the basket. After that, we will get some shots. We will do different types of shots, catching shoot off the dribble and while running this all depends on the skill level of my client then I will go over defensive drills, such as ladders, sliding your feet in different positions you should be in the game. Finally, there will be competitive play if I have more than one client at once, or they can play me one-on-one at the end. This is how I run my session it can be flexible based on my client's skill level
