More About Coach Alexander
Served as Assistant Boys Basketball Coach in Chicago with Westinghouse College Prep (SY 2024-25), Prosser Career Academy (SY 2023-24), and Chalmers Elementary (SY 2022-23). Supported Varsity, JV, and Freshman programs at the high school level. Served as Assistant Boys Basketball Coach in the Adidas AAU circuit with the Chicago Grinders 14-17U teams in Spring 2024 and Spring 2025. 2 years of private coaching experience in player development. USA Basketball Gold Coach licensed and American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certified.
I grew up playing basketball as a point guard nearly year-round. I attended college basketball camps (University of Kentucky, Michigan State University, and University of Michigan) over the summer starting in middle school through my junior year of high school. While in middle school I played amongst high level competition through Detroit AAU. My strongest attributes are fundamentals and court awareness. A student of the game looking to pass it along. Camp Champion of the John Calipari University of Kentucky basketball camp in Summer 2011 and MVP of the Tom Izzo Michigan State University basketball camp in Summer 2009.
If I’ve already established a relationship with the player, I lean into their strengths for further development and challenge them on their weaknesses. If I’m establishing a new relationship with a player, I evaluate their fundamentals on offense and defense so that I can gather data and set a baseline to build upon. I aim to impart skills and drills that are able to be worked on without me being there. I also like to incorporate skills and drills from other sports, especially soccer and tennis.

Client Reviews
Sam Y. (Chicago client) (Testimonial)
Alex was awesome! He came with a thoughtful plan and engaged immediately! My son enjoyed the basketball drills and wants to schedule more time. Alex also followed up with some suggestions for my son to work on after the session.
