More About Coach Akeem
I have been working with players from ages 10-23 year olds for the past 3 years. I’m a Professional Pitcher for 12+ years (&counting) but currently a Free Agent. I’m interested in helping players reach a different level of confidence in the game of baseball. As well as developing the sound fundamentals of the game. That list for me consists of:
*Mechanics (Pitching or Hitting)
*Fielding
*Throwing
*Proper Arm Care Maintenance
*Agility & Conditioning
I’ve only done private sessions and it’s mainly during my off season. However, if questions come about when I’m in season I will provide a response at my earliest convenience.
*Senior Year of High School I won 4A Player of the Year for the state of South Carolina. (2013)
*Drafted in the 2nd Round, No.62nd overall in 2013 out of High School to the Texas Rangers
*Named #6 Best Prospect in AZL (2013)
*Traded in 2015 to Houston Astros for Carlos Corporan
*Texas League Pitcher of the Week in 2017 with the Corpus Christi Hooks (AA for Houston Astros)
*Pitched in the Big Leagues for the New York Mets in 2021
* Named All-Star in the American Association (MLB Partner League) in 2023.
*Helped start the Inaugural Season for the First Professional Baseball League in Dubai in November of 2025 (Baseball United).
