More About Coach Adanya

I have three years of experience coaching and mentoring athletes across multiple age groups and competitive levels. My background includes developing youth and high school players with a focus on both skill development and personal growth in the goalie position. I have also worked in structured team environments, though I prefer individual training settings that emphasize fundamentals, game IQ, and leadership within the goalie position.
I typically train athletes ranging from elementary through high school age, preparing them for the next level of competition. My coaching approach integrates technical training, athletic development, and mentorship to help players reach their full potential on and off the field.
I maintain current industry certifications, including Girls Coach and Official certifications through USA Lacrosse, and continue to pursue professional development opportunities to stay aligned with best practices in athlete performance and safety.

I competed at the NCAA Division I level as a goalkeeper for the James Madison University (JMU) women’s lacrosse program. During my senior season (2025), I earned recognition as the American Athletic Conference (AAC) Goalkeeper of the Year and was named a First-Team All-AAC goalkeeper. I also made the AAC All-Tournament Team and was a three-time AAC Goalkeeper of the Week (March 3, April 14 & April 21). In that season, I appeared in 17 games (15 starts), posted a .625 save percentage in a career-high performance vs. South Florida (4/19) and recorded a career-high 18 saves vs. Georgetown. I ranked first in the AAC in goals-against-average (10.53) and save percentage (.469). Earlier seasons included appearances and saves as I grew into the starting role, along with consistent academic honors.

Clients can expect a focused, high-energy, and supportive environment built around developing strong, confident goalies. Each session is designed to sharpen technical skills, improve reaction time, and build leadership both in and out of the crease. A typical session begins with a dynamic warm-up that emphasizes agility, balance, and hand-eye coordination. From there, we move into position-specific drills that target key areas such as footwork, arc movement, angle play, and body positioning. I incorporate a variety of reaction and tracking drills, including tennis ball work, shot recognition, and live reps, to strengthen reflexes and decision-making under pressure. I place a strong emphasis on communication and confidence, teaching goalies how to command their defense and make quick, composed decisions during game situations. Every workout is adjusted to the athlete's experience level, focusing on consistent progress and measurable improvement. Sessions end with review or reflection, allowing athletes to understand what went well and what to refine. My goal is to help each goalie leave the session feeling more technically sound, mentally sharp, and prepared to perform at their highest level.
