More About Coach Aaron
Downey High School, Downey, Ca.- Head Freshman Boys Basketball Coach and strength and agility trainer for the basketball program
Gilbert, AZ. Recreational and club boys basketball coach ages 7-13.
Been playing basketball as my main sport since 5 years old.
I ended up being MVP 3 out of the 4 years at Warren High School.
Played at Cerritos Junior College
I typically start off with athletic balance and footwork (wide base, pivot foot, ripping the ball to the hip, low center of gravity, eyes up). Then I like to transition that into dribbling drills. Some stationary and a lot on the move with the same focus as above, low dribbling, balance, eyes up, etc. 3rd, passing with good footwork, ball fakes, and looking defenders off with the eyes. Last, shooting with correct form with set shots short into deep, off the run without the ball, and then off the dribble. Conditioning maybe at the end. Would rather get as much basketball in, rather than running without the ball.
