More About Coach Aaron
I currently own and operate a 5000 square foot athletic performance facility in Raleigh North Carolina. I opened my first SPORTS performance facility in Raleigh North Carolina 2008. I coach youth, teen, amateur & professional athletes in a wide variety of sports. I started coaching athletes in 2002 while I was completing my graduate degree at Ohio University. In 2003 I started a strength & conditioning program for the entire athletic department at Cary Academy while I was coaching JV boy's lacrosse. I continued to develop the program over the next four years while coaching Varsity boys lacrosse. In 2007 I left the school and started coaching lacrosse at Wakefield High School in Raleigh. I developed a year round strength & conditioning program for our JV & Varsity boys lacrosse teams.
Certifications & Degrees: MS, BS, CSCS, PICP, USAW, CPR & First-Aid
I played one year of college lacrosse at the State University of New York at Cortland and 2 years of Junior college lacrosse. I also played travel hockey from the age 10 through high school. I played in three high school sectional championship games during my high school lacrosse career. My hockey team was New York State Champs at both the squirt and pee wee level.
As a kid I played baseball, basketball, soccer, hockey skiing, and lacrosse. If I wasn't playing a sport I spent every waking moment outside riding bikes, skateboarding and playing at the park.
When i put together a session for my athletes I take several things into consideration. Depending on the athlete, I would include a good warm-up including light multi directional movements to get the athlete ready for full speed movements. I would then take them through a variety of mobility and flexibility drills to make sure all of his or her full range of motion movement patterns are possible. Once the warm-up and mobility section is finished I would then introduce age appropriate movements to develop speed, power and explosiveness. I would also use various strength training, plyometrics, endurance, core & conditioning methods based on their individual needs.
