Event Description:

Clinic Breakdown

1. Skill Development

Focused on developing the fundamental and advanced skills athletes need to perform at a high level.

Ball Handling & Creating Space

  • Two-ball dribbling and ball-control series
  • Change of pace and change of direction
  • Creating separation from defenders
  • Handling pressure and defensive contact
  • Attacking from different spots on the floor

Shooting & Scoring

  • Form shooting and shooting mechanics
  • Catch-and-shoot repetitions
  • Pull-up jumpers off the dribble
  • Finishing at the rim through contact
  • Floaters, reverses, and finishing with both hands

2. Player Development –

Focused on helping athletes become more complete basketball players by improving decision-making, basketball IQ, and game understanding.

Decision Making & Basketball IQ

  • Reading defensive pressure and recognizing advantages
  • Attacking closeouts
  • Spacing and movement without the ball
  • Making the right play in game-like situations
  • Understanding offensive concepts and reads

Position & Role Development

  • Guard, wing, and post-specific skill work
  • Developing strengths based on position and playing style
  • Transition offense and defensive responsibility
  • Communicating and playing within a team concept

3. Competition

Competitive game situations designed to test the skills and decision-making developed throughout the clinic.

  • 1v1 competitive scoring
  • 2v2 and 3v3 small-sided games
  • Live game situations
  • Competitive shooting games
  • Advantage/disadvantage situations
  • Reading defenses and making decisions under pressure
  • Tryout-style competition designed to simulate the intensity and pressure of actual team evaluations

2. Strength & Conditioning with Bando Performance (60 minutes)

Tailored to basketball’s demands: explosiveness, lateral quickness, stamina

  • Warm-Up & Mobility
  • 3 Dimensional Dynamic warm-up focusing on different movement techniques/strategies. 
  • Full body mobility and flexibility 
  • Strength Training
  • Full body strength training, education and execution of basic foundational exercises that yield the most results for increasing athletic performance.
  • Explosiveness & Agility
  • Vertical and horizontal force development
  • Rotational Power and core stability development
  • Speed development (resisted or un-resisted)
  • Conditioning / Game Shape
  • Metabolic conditioning for the sport of basketball
  • Partner competition drills to mimic tryout intensity
