More About Coach Zach

I have been coaching in some fashion through athletics or programming for goals for the past 10 years. I started lifting in 4th grade and trained a a powerlifter then signed onto WSU as a thrower and spent 5 years where I learned how to train in a sport at a high level. At WSU I finished my exercise science degree and also did my college internship with John Hetzendorf, the throws coach at WSU, where we worked on programming and form analysis of all the throwing athletes. After this I went to Kansas University Medical Center and graduated with my Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree and am now working as an outpatient PT and am a manual certified physical therapis and have my strength and conditioning specialist certification During my time as a PT student I also coached the throwing events for one year at Park University in Kansas City were I programmed the strength and conditioning as well. I now am also a fire fighter for Sedgwick County and am currently training for both speed and strength.

As a senior at Lyons High School I was a state champion in powerlifting setting the bench state record and total state record. I also was a state champion in shot put as a senior and had been 2nd the year before. At WSU I was a MVC scorer and 6 times in shot put and 3 time All-MVC. I have the 3rd farthest throw of in WSU history in shot put. I have trained for powerlifting post colliagiatly but now focus on overall fitness and health.

Our first session would be focused on setting goals and timelines for when we want to reach them. We would spend time going over basic nutrition and programing and other information that you can take outside of our training. We would then move into training and education of lifting and proper form based off of current knowledge of lifting. From there we would move forward with our programming and making decisions on how to progress.

Client Reviews

Was helpful.

Zach did a great job working with my high school senior son in shot put. My son just needed some fine tuning. Zach has tremendous knowledge about shot put - he is very, very good. Zach is very easy going and friendly. He worked well with my son. I highly recommend Zach.
