More About Coach Zach
I have experience coaching athletes from the amateur level all the way up to the professional level. I worked with All American Sports Training in CT early in my college career, and transitioned to working with pitchers specifically at Advanced Therapy and Performance. My main focus with pitchers is dominating the mental game and establishing efficient mechanics for both health and strong performance.
I played 5 seasons of NCAA Division I baseball (Atlantic 10 Conference) with UMass-Amherst. I began my career as a mid relief pitcher and specialist, then moved to closer, then weekend starting pitcher for my final two years. In 2022, I finished in the top 5 in the conference in saves, even though I moved to the starting rotation in the middle of the season. In summer 2021, I was named to the 5 year anniversary team of Westfield Starfires (Futures Collegiate Baseball league) after leading the team in innings pitched, saves and strikeouts.
Each session will start with some sort of light warm up throwing. This warm up will depend on the athlete and their specific needs. It may involve an athletic movement, static throwing, or replicating arm slot. We will progress into mainly flat ground throwing, and on some days we will get off the mound. With older athletes, I may introduce some technology and pitch design to track velocity and movement. With younger athletes, we will focus on efficient mechanics to improve velocity, command, and arm health. I will prescribe homework for each athlete to work on until our next session.

Client Reviews
Brian (CoachUp client)
Coach Zach was great, patient and took the time to explain well. Ryan said it was the best coaching session ever. Including his lessons with the Bay State Braves coaches. Looking forward to more sessions and progressing forward with mechanics and new pitches. And workout help and suggestions to improve strength and flexibility.
Patty (CoachUp client)
Zach was terrific with my 12 year old son. He broke down all the steps for pitching and we saw real improvement in one session. He has a great, upbeat manner and knows how to talk with kids.
Ron (CoachUp client)
Both my boys absolutely love their sessions with Zach. I think they relate to him because he is younger than a lot of coaches they’ve had and he recently played Division I baseball. He’s very thorough and switches up the drills after getting feedback from them and my wife and I on what they would like to work on. He’s been great.
Yeon (CoachUp client)
My 9yo boy started baseball lessons with Zach this winter. Over the 10 sessions, he showed remarkable improvement in his skills. More importantly, he feels completely at ease with Zach, and they have developed a great rapport. I plan to continue our sessions with him. Zach would be the absolute one you would want to work with for your child.

My son loved Coach Zach! He can't wait to train more with him. He was very responsive and knowledgeable in not only the sport but as well as working with youth. He is going to be a great fit for my son for the off-season! Were both excited.
Kathryn (CoachUp client)
Zach did a fantastic job working with my son Jake. He was able to quickly assess his strengths and weaknesses and Jake made huge progress in just the first session! Zach has a great attitude, and his positivity and encouragement is what every athlete needs. Looking forward to regular sessions with Zach throughout the year!
Lawrence (CoachUp client)
My son has worked with Zach for a few sessions now and we have seen significant improvement in not only his pitching but also the rest of his game (Batting, fielding and overall confidence). Zach keeps the sessions fun and engaging while still accomplishing a great amount of training during the hour. The training is worth every penny.
