More About Coach Yoan
I currently coach competitive youth soccer at the U12 level with United Soccer Alliance, where I lead team training sessions, player development, match preparation and individual feedback. I work primarily with youth players who want to improve their technical ability, decision-making, movement off the ball, confidence and overall understanding of the game. I have completed the U.S. Soccer Grassroots 11v11 course and continue to study player development and session design.
My background in soccer comes from years of playing and studying the game, combined with my current work as a competitive youth coach. My strongest experience today is in coaching and player development rather than professional playing credentials. I bring a coach’s perspective focused on helping young players understand the game and improve consistently.
Every session is built around the individual player’s needs. I normally begin with a short technical warm-up and ball work, then move into exercises focused on the player’s priority areas such as first touch, passing, dribbling, finishing, 1v1 ability, movement after the pass and decision-making before receiving the ball. I use realistic game situations whenever possible instead of only isolated drills. I also explain the reason behind each exercise so the player understands how the skill transfers into a match. Sessions finish with competitive activities and clear feedback on what the player should continue working on between sessions.
