More About Coach William
I have coached players at all levels, ranging from youth players to young adults in a number of different countries. I have experience coaching players one-on-one, in small groups, as well as teams. Most recently I was the Assistant Coach for The Dalton School Varsity Soccer Team. I am also currently working toward a US Soccer Federation A-Youth Coaching License. In addition to English, I am fluent in Spanish and speak some French.
Coaching History:
The Dalton School, NY, NY. Assistant Coach, Boys Varsity Soccer Team (Fall 2023)
Football Development Coach, FC Twenty 11, Christchurch, New Zealand. Served as coach for “Youth in the Schools Programme” and the FC Twenty 11 U11 and U14 teams (May-Jul 2023)
After-School Soccer Coach, NY, NY. Provided one-on-one skills training to youth (2016-18)
Counselor, Dalton Sports Camp, NY, NY. Helped organize and lead sports activities (Summer 2017)
I am currently a professional soccer player with playing experience in four different continents. In my career, I have played as both an attacker and defender. I believe that being flexible is one of the most important qualities to have as a soccer player and my drills will help to improve all aspects of the game.
Personal Achievements:
Professional contract signed, Tbilisi, Georgia (Feb 2023); one of 4 players promoted to Torque Reserve (2021); led FC Westchester U19 in goals/assists (2019); Player of the Week, topdrawersoccer.com (Oct 2019); First Team All-Ivy Honors (2018); NYSAIS Semifinals (2017, 2018)
Playing History:
FC Twenty 11 [Southern League], Christchurch, New Zealand (May-Aug 2023)
FC Merani Tbilisi [Erovnuli Liga 2], Tbilisi, Georgia (Jan-Apr 2023)
Montevideo City Torque B Reserve [First Division; part of City Football Group], Uruguay (2021-22)
Montevideo City Torque U19 [“A” AUF], Uruguay (2020)
FC Westchester, USSDA U18/19 [now MSL Next] (2019)
During the initial session, I engage the player in a number of different drills in order to assess their overall level and identify areas that need improvement. I also ask them what their expectations and goals are for the future. Based on this information, I am able to tailor each subsequent session to best meet their needs. Sessions typically include skill-based drills to improve overall technique and performance. Among the drills are 1v1 dribbling, shooting, crossing, passing, movement, as well as those that improve speed and agility. I also implement drills that simulate real-game action, which can better the player’s performance during competitions. If needed, I can also provide fitness-based exercise that will help prepare a player for a 90-minute game. I try to make each session enjoyable for the player as I have found that this is the best way to motivate them and help promote their development.

Client Reviews
Nathan (CoachUp client)
I had an outstanding time training with Will. We did training exercises of various sorts targeting different skills, all of which were engaging and will have immediate relevance in games. I felt increments of improvement and an increase in confidence and awareness even as we went through repetitions of the exercises. He's highly knowledgeable of soccer and very personable as a trainer -- highly recommendable.
Dan (CoachUp client)
