Played DIII lacrosse collegially at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA (Class of 2012). While there, played attack and recorded the program's All Time Points record with 242 (141g - 101a), was a preseason ballot All-American entering senior year, and was a team captain for junior and senior years.

During a training session, I work on both agility/speed training along with techniques for both offensive and defensive players. For offensive players, we work on proper throwing and shooting mechanics (when stationary and on the move). Offensive players will utilize the agility/speed work (use of cones, resistance bands training, ladder, sprints, other conditioning techniques) in concert with learned shooting mechanics. We focus on on-the-run shooting, hitch dodge into a shot, low angle shots, quick stick shooting, etc. Lacrosse IQ is discussed through a variety of scenarios within individual drills and whole game concepts.

For defensive players, we will work on footwork (cones, ladder work, sprints, other conditioning techniques), taking proper angels, approach drills, appropriate stick checks (timing, variation of checks, etc.), and defensive principals in the fast break game, odd man situational awareness (and overall lacrosse IQ), 6v6 defense, and clearing game (stick work - passing, catching, shooting).

My 7 year old son just finished his first lacrosse coaching lesson with Coach Will. The two of them connected very well and Will was able to balance in more technical training techniques with out it becoming to difficult for a younger player to understand. He also reinforced some more basic techniques which kept my athlete engaged between the challenges of the newer more difficult tasks. Although we have only completed one session with Will we have already booked subsequent training lessons as I feel it has been both a positive experience for myself and my young lacrosse player. Will has been extremely professional, a great communicator on Coach Up, quickly getting back to emails and messages and very flexible with practice times. My son is already looking forward to his next session, as a recreation team coach, yes I would recommend Coach Will.

Excellent coach!

Coach will was very detailed and clear on his coaching during the first session with my daughter as she is switching to a goalie for first time. I can see her starting to be confident and comfortable. Wie are looking forward to continue sessions with coach will.

I'm so glad we connected with Coach Will. He's very responsive & keeps us informed of our upcoming sessions. Will has been great working with my daughters & providing constructive feedback after each session. His demeanor & professionalism is top notch! I look forward to more opportunities for my daughters to work with Will.

Coach Will was great! I am new to Lacrosse and needed to learn the basics. He is extremely knowledgeable and patient with me as a beginner. I learned so much in our two hour session. He gave me confidence to try out for our high school team and encouragement to continue to learn the sport.

My son had a great lesson with Will! Will was patient and explained things very clearly so that my son could understand his instructions.

My first session was a great experience. I'll practice with more purpose and improve at a better pace with his guidance. I also had a great time. Booking more sessions now.

Had two privates over the winter break in order to prepare myself for my spring season at RIT. Not only did he build back up my confidence he helped better certain aspects of my shooting. He has so much knowledge in the sport and the dynamics that go into it. Learning about the technical aspects of shooting helped me when I put everything together and to understand why certain things would help. His knowledge of the sport was ultimately a helpful technique. I left these two sessions will overall better shooting techniques and defensive skills. Footwork was also another key aspect he integrated into our private session which I enjoyed.

Will DeLanoy is an incredible, motivational coach. I’ve had the opportunity to coach with him at lacrosse camps and with the 4 Leaf Lacrosse club program. In addition, I’ve been on the opposing sideline while he was at Rivier University. Coach DeLanoy has always proven to have great integrity and truly loves teaching the game. He has a unique ability to get through to a variety of players at different levels. As an educator, Coach DeLanoy is able to leverage his understanding of how kids learn differently to get the most out of them. If you are looking to increase your skill set and passion for the game, I highly recommend using Coach DeLanoy!
